OK, hopefully that got people's attention. But it's annoying isn't it, now you're here, after opening up a thread with a misleading title. That's also how people feel when they open up a sales advert, read all the way through, sometimes over a page or two, only to find the item's been sold. PLEASE, PLEASE, try and remember to edit the title of your threads to say SOLD, once the transaction has been completed. It's dead easy, just go back and edit your first post, click on the button beneath the text box, the one thatsays "Use Full Editor", Non You'll then see in a blue outlined box labelled "Topic Title" near the top of the page, just click inside it and you can edit your title. You don't have to delete or change your post in any other way, just add SOLD to the title please You never know, it might be you it helps next time3 points

So Much for the "accurate"? ?? BBC weather report but at least it was a good day out and good to see everyone again today. Barry & Andrew2 points

Not seen a post on this yet so thought worth starting something... Alford Speedfest was a good day last year (weather helped!) and I am taking part again this year. Albeit the event is being organised by the transport museum themselves this year so change in organisers but hopefully be another good day out. Be cool to see some more Westfields there. Dave1 point

Thanks for the pointers but think we've hijacked the OP intent and rather detracted from the perfectly sensible and safe and stunning work, back on topic then..1 point

What an excellent turn out, full of surprises. The first one was Barry and Andrew, I was chuffed to bits when I saw them pull into the car park, complete with roof on, well done you two, I know you both hate the rain and cold. The second surprise was Frank, coming all the way from Harrogate, OK, in an MX5, but we like those too and his most immaculate Westfield is still waiting in the garage for next time. Another surprise was Pre-lit Steve waiting for us to arrive at the Oil Can Cafe, complete with wife, two of the children and the wife's sister, I hope they all liked the place. The final surprise was a late entry from Jamie in his Cobra, well would you bring yours out in the rain if you owned one? no, I thought not. The great thing about Westfield's is that they are universal enough to bring out in all weathers. The Strines All these surprises does not take away the great respect given to Robin and Martyn/Sue who also came along. We all met at The Strines and got quite cosy with both real fires lit and the rain coming down outside. A group of gentlemen introduced themselves to us, they were from the Cobra club but had not bought their cars today, the Jag was rather nice though. We finally braved the outdoors and set off to the Oil Can Cafe, along a very wet, slippy, difficult road with brand new tarmac in places mmm. We had a look around the garage before getting some lunch and indulging in more car talk with an added topping of some Cobra talk. I hope Roger Moore enjoy's this story Jamie! The Oil Can Cafe We came out of the cafe and...yoo hoo... the rain had stopped, so we all agreed to go home topless and went our separate ways. We passed an accident on the Strines road, I said it is was a naughty road, take your eyes off it for one second and it will have you. Martyn and Sue came to our house to give their Westfield a bath before heading off to a hotel. The sun was blazing away, a bit late but there you go. Then Glen and I set to on cleaning our Westfield, ready for an early start in the morning. Please let it be dry at Elvington tomorrow. The Cobra1 point

Afternoon All. All the above comments are noted and I was previously aware of them. On top of the above I would also like to add about insurance. I took out insurance through the British Model Flying Association for when I am out and about flying. I am not saying that this means I can do whatever I want but I thought that it was really important to have insurance in place if any incident was to take place anywhere.1 point

There appears to be growing trend of people moving to single seaters. Shame that are moving away from a Westfield but at least they are staying very much part of the WSCC "family". My Westfield is sat in the garage very much unused which is a shame. I was planning to do some events in it this year but with all the MSA stuff (tyres, FHRs and ROPs) I just can't see that happening now. Well I will see what feedback there is about scrutineering and may find the opportunity to compete in the Westfield.1 point

Nick, both as a member of the Club committee, and as a participant in your SSOC, I have seen some of the enormous amount of work you have put in over the last ten years in order to build and maintain a successful and fair national competition. We will all miss your sagacity, tenacity and good humour enormously. If ever honorary life membership were deserved . . . . . .1 point

I think the MSA should stand for Motorsport anialation, the way its going. Utter nonsense1 point

Nick I can't believe its 10 years since you took over from Steve Robinson. Having been on the organising team for a couple of seasons I have had an insight into the amount of work thats involved. Often a thankless task too, as you can't please all the people all of the time, or in fact any of them at any time. You can see why Bernie runs F1 as a dictatorship ! I think i can speak on behalf of all in the speed series in saying a big thank you for all you have done for the club and the speed series.1 point

Why does'nt it fit? Is the cross member in the way Is there an area furthur away from the back of the carbs (but still directly in line) that will make it fit IIRC it's the backplate that caused me the most grief not the filter I ended up making spacers between carb and b/plate, then fit trumpets on top of that HTH Dave1 point
