  1. A thread to say thanks on behalf of me and everyone else to the Speed Series Organising Team and Tigger for their hard unpaid volunteer work that makes the Speed Series so great. It's been a damned hard slog for them just getting there before the season started, especially dealing with things out of their control. No one could have done any more or any better, which is reflected by the excellent Speed Series numbers. Post below to join me in the SSOT and Tigger Appreciation Society! PS: Any negative comments regarding either of them and especially any moans about the new regs / classes / scoring, and you might find your avatar gets changed to this:

  2. Hi Robin. Here are the pictures from where you tried to hit me with your car. Your face clearly shows that you knew what you were doing.

  3. Well here is my first go at putting together a little film using footage from my drone. I hope you like it.

  4. The beam engines were running today, they are air driven now. One of the two pistons. The second stone step has nearly 200 years wear on it, from where the operator used to stand on that step to look at the signal. An 80 year old man, who was in charge, told us, he was full of interesting little facts like that. We had to have a little photo shoot outside the boilers After our lesson in British industrial history we took the short journey to Ecclesbourne Railway, where the steam trains were running. We headed for the Pullman cafe as the rain really started lashing down. When we came out it was back to sunshine so we went for a drive through Bakewell, up round and down the lovely Via Gellia road. That nicely landed us in Matlock Bath for some fish and chips to finish the day off. A fantastic day out with a big, yummy thank you to Martyn and Sue for joining us. We are just sorry the awful weather meant the others were not part of it but thank you for expressing your intentions, it means a lot.

  6. Although I have now retired from active participation, I am truly grateful for all their efforts over the last 7 years or so. They do a fantastic job.

  7. Tigger As always I appreciate all the great work you do! I hope you will be out yourself this year so you can post some of your own points as well With all the rule changes it has been a difficult year to get started and after consultation with competitors we have tried to accommodate as many opinions as possible. Clearly we have not pleased everyone but we have what we have got and I hope we can review progress during the year to see what lessons can be learnt for next year's regs. Thanks again Tigger Best regards Graham

  8. Freesat. Binned Sky a couple of years ago and got a Humax freesat box. Never regretted the move and neither did the bank balance.

  10. You have just reminded me that I had a thrilling ride in a much older cousin's Broadley (1172cc side-valve Ford Ten engine). The first time I had ever been as fast as seventy miles per hour - I was about ten or so at the time. It was a bit like a Lotus Seven IIRC Like this...

  11. My excuse is I have completely lost my mojo. The car has been problematic with minor niggles (oil leaks) that have helped tip me over the edge. As for this year, my lack of enthusiasm to compete, is one thing, and I refuse to remove what I consider to be a perfectly serviceable cage to fit an MSA roll hoop. If the enthusiasm returns I might try WSCC Blyton but then again can I be bothered...... Anyone want to buy a class E car?

  12. Shame that's 25% less than entered Novice last year.

  13. Just entered the Blyton event on 3rd April as a test day, be interesting to get a feel for how this series runs

  14. Very unfortunate, what happened to yours. Sounds like a good plan to have an engine builder put it all back together, replacing the bits that need it. Any idea what this might cost on a v8 unit?
