  1. OK gang, the 30th anniversary celebrations continue! Members attending Stoneleigh this year will receive a free 30th anniversary T-shirt! We need to order the shirts, so the point of this poll is not so much numbers as to gather percentages for each size to determine the quantities for the order. So if you are attending Stoneleigh, please tell us your size in the poll - thanks! Note: Read this again - you will only get a free T-shirt if: > You attend the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire on 1-2 May 2016 > You are a WSCC Member, Joint Member, Trader, or Sponsor - and we will be checking! You may be asked to show photo ID to prove your eligibility What will not be allowed: > Taking more than one shirt > Collecting a shirt for another member who can't make it to Stoneleigh > Posting a shirt before, during, or after Stoneleigh - collection at Stoneleigh only > Reserving a shirt before the show - too complicated, too resource tapping. Show up early to ensure best choice This is a blatant, unapologetic bribe to get the best possble member turnout at Stoneleigh for our 30th anniversary celebrations - simple as that. And we want to see lots of T-shirts walking around Stoneleigh, making everyone else jealous. Let's be having your size! Here's what it will look like - just think how smart you'll look in it! (Well, most of you, anyway - click on photo to enlarge. )

  2. Very good condition. Those of you that know me will be well aware they've been looked after well. They've not been abused and have only done 12 Sprints, have been kept in dark bagged away from UV & adverse temps. Require alternate tyres to compete in Sprints for 2016 £ 260 180 ono - which is under half what I paid for them new (plus courier-age) Oh... & they're the softer compound. PM email if you'd like photos etc. Edit: Photos added

  3. Well I'm off on a little holiday next week, I shall get home late Thursday night and will have to more or less go straight to bed, so there will be no time to pack..... Which leads me on to mention that I'm trying to get stuff packed tonight..... I'm looking for the strange little battery charger for my Dive Torch Batteries...... To say that it's really steaming my clams wouldn't do my frame of mind justice..... I've got the UK and the continental power leads, and I've got the batteries..... BUT I can't find the charger..... It's somewhere among all the clutter and junk that I've amassed over the years..... When I get back from my trip I will no doubt find the old battery charger and keep it safe with the new one that I'm going to buy this week....... but I shall create some space.... anyone got any obscure requests for bit's of old computers? CB & amateur radio gear, power leads and transformers of all descriptions and all manner of old computer games...... put your requests in before it all goes to the tip...... Nem......

  4. I would agree with Stu, you will have plenty of choice with your stated budget but you will need to narrow down some of the other parts. For example, if you want road use then most people go for full windscreen, doors and a roof option together with a heater. Thats my preferred option at the moment. However, as an ex-biker like Stu and myself you may be happy to go Stu's way with shell type race seats, no heater, no carpets and an aeroscreen. At least then you can continue to use your helmet and bike clothing! Ideally you need to get to your nearest area meeting to talk to owners and look/try as many styles as possible. Alternatively wait until Stoneleigh when you can see hundreds of different westfields and quite a few will be for sale

  5. 8-10K will get you a very nice Wessie, maybe 7,8 years old. The SEIW is fairly simple, They are nearly all SE and the I is indipendant rear suspension rather than live axle and the W is for wide which is the body around the cockpit which since 2000 they have mostly been. Dont think that you need 200 BHP, anything over 150/160 still goes like stink so really the choice is yours when it comes to screens, roofs and trim.

  7. Stu If you are seriously thinking of going up the Watkin Path it is easy, as in 'not technical' to walk it, but as it starts at only 60 metres above sea level, it is a good physical challenge. With legs as long as yours it should be a doddle! Start it from the car park/toilet block at Nantgwynant on the A498, just above Beddgelert. Cross over the road and walk up through the woods, zig zag past the waterfalls, pass the derelict miners houses and make your way up the constructed path until you get to a flat section (about 2-3 hours). You now have about half an hour of near vertical scree before the path joins the Rhydd Ddu path at a monolith and a right turn takes you straight to the summit of Snowdon. It is a lot quieter than some of the other routes and is very pretty, providing you choose a fair weather day of course. I can email you a map of whichever route you finally decide on if you like? Let us know how you get on, it will be a great adventure I am sure and a great thing for dads and lads to do. Cheers Julie

  9. I'm much the same, don't do camping! Last time me & the wife stayed in a tent was at Stoneliegh back in 2004 when I was building my first westy. But I wasn't a member of the club then, I did say never again. But I'm just going to get a tent & give it a go all in the sprit of the club, you never know & it's only for one night. But there's no chance in dragging the wife along these days.

  16. We've already had to postpone this meeting once and time is marching on, I'm afraid John. Hi Mark, and welcome Can i suggest you start a fresh thread under this section: http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/forum/79-x-cars/ re XIs as not many of us are familiar with them. Keep an eye on this thread though for meeting updates and hopefully you can make it along. Cheers!
