  1. Well, my "How To Sort Webbers" book didn't arrive, so I couldn't strip the carbs down in the warm comfort of the dining room. So instead, I went to the garage a froze my rusty nuts off fitting this....... Can't afford a carbon one at the moment, so had a guy I know cut and fold three pieces of aluminium to my drawing and rivet them together. I covered the outside in a offcut of carbon vinyl that JD Wraps let me have in exchange for my copy of the WSCC mag that featured their wrapping skills. It's not as close to the ground as it looks, having about the same clearance as the floor. I don't think it looks too shoddy!

  3. Doubt it, I think it's most likely a cheesed off resident who thinks you own the road in front of your house. Anyway, I got it off thankfully. And the rust....just dirt, phew!

  4. David, Don;t worry I didn't take it as criticism, but I did want to explain why we are not going to divulge the exact figures used. It would be all to easy to end up with a "discussion / arguement" with people about had we used the right one. It is difficult and the one part of the job that I hate having. Hence our comments last year about considering other scoring systems for 2017. Barney, We are running the Novices totally seperateley this year, but are just catching up with Tigger as to how to best get a system to do that. But yes the intention is to give the Novices an offset time in the other classes. Will announce that as soon as we have got it sorted.

  9. from the Midlands! The car looks great and I'm sure it goes well and the mighty crossflow always sounds fantastic. As for the engine you are not missing out on the experience of driving a Westfield so get out and enjoy the car as much as you can Martyn

  10. Came away at lunch, 1:00 as it was raining and, combined with the cold wind, the fun element was quickly being overhauled by discomfort. A good turnout and variety with everyone I came across on track courteous and well behaved. No problems with noise, mine tested at 94 dB which is the lowest yet, usually 97~99 at MSA events. Will certainly go again but when it's a fair bit warmer. Nice to bump into Richard from Herts., Beds & Bucks having a spectate. Nice Westfield BTW.

  11. Geoff is a charmer, he had me at "Chocolate Orange"... And I love the fact my significant other crosses herself and says three hail Mary's when Mr Grumpy comes out of the shed. I get some me time..!

  12. I've decided to keep the change to my Avatar comment - it can serve as a permanent reminder that the WSCC forum is effectively a police state, which Scott treats as his own private fiefdom... We might as well be living in North Korea, we would certainly have more personal freedom to express our opinions..! Can you tell I'm a sore loser..? BTW - Diesels are still ****e

  13. Yes there are some seriously quick cars and drivers in the speed series. Just to give you some comfort as a novice my best at Loton last year was only a 58.47 so don't worry too much about the target time. It's more accurately described as a record time. David

  14. You did indeed John and that was a very quick time!!!!!!compared to D and E

  15. Yes I am a novice and in F with my megabusa. We have expert target times but there was some talk about that being reviewed. Either way don't worry about target times and being competitive in your first year. Just enter, make some new friends and have fun and you will learn a lot about your car and driving for the year after. David

  16. Happy, happy, happy.... Went on the Ford UK website, did a "dealers approved to sell the RS" search and phoned Hartwell Ford near Oxford. Asked to speak to a salesman who was enthusiastic about cars. Ended up talking to a TOTAL petrol head who even knew the difference between the two types of torque vectoring. And they have a Fiesta ST2 in blue sat on the lot. Week after next going for a play. Faith in car dealers is restored..!

  24. Besides the idiotic vandalism, there's a bigger point - the fact hospitals charge doctors and nurses to park at their own place of work, if there's any space at all, and don't lay on park and ride schemes. More great caring by NHS beauracrats.
