  1. I just got back from a ski ing trip to find my copy of Westfield World waiting for me. I have to say it's a cracking edition, well done to those responsible for it. As a newcomer to the Westfield world it was something of an education reading through the early extracts and you can clearly see the evolution of it all within this one magazine. I'd like to see an update from Burt. It would be interesting to know if his Mother in law ever did get mangled in the combine, squashed by the steam roller, or survived to make his life a misery. And of course, what he's driving now. My sticker will be going beneath the 'Westfield' emblem on the back of my 1993 1.6CVH. Although I've only owned it for a few months it was nice to think mine has been around for 23 of the clubs 30 years, and will hopefully continue for a good few yet. Enjoy your driving.

  2. When I look at pictures like this... I can't help being amazed how these sea defenses that were built by the Victorians are standing up to the holy bejezus of a battering they are getting. You might call me a cynic (shut up the lot of you..!) but I really can't believe anything built in the last 50 years would have coped so well. I think we would be getting news articles with pictures like... Three Cheers for Izzy and all those who built with him..!

  3. New and unfitted - brand new (currently on offer) from Westfield is £120. Can be seen here: http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/94079-fw-style-rear-diffuser/ £100 collected (Stamford Lincs) or WSCC courier.

  4. Yes, you swear allegiance to me, which is significantly more sinister. Happily, there will be beer on hand to dull your pain. Close - you sing "In The WSCC" to the tune of the Village People's "In The Navy". Good plan - that means I can take care of you all in one shot without chasing you around.

  5. I have the Ford flappy mirrors and yes, you can fold them with the engine running and the car moving

  7. Did you curse it? Final trackdays 11th and 12th March. This is why I shouldn't leave winter upgrades until nearly spring!

  8. Don't worry, no need to apologise and fully understand where you're coming from. It's a highly emotive subject and has been for several months now, to the point where there's a fairly low flashpoint, unfortunately. Don't let this put you off asking questions, we're actually a friendly bunch.

  10. Our esteemed new WSCC Trader M. Rowland Esq. has dared me to come along in my newly acquired poncemobile that has replaced the Westfield. I am more than happy to do this as I have acquired a new balaclava which came with the car. However - as the February meet falls on Valentines day, I have promised to take my good Lady away for the weekend in our new toy to try and eradicate in her mind the memory of driving down to Angouleme in the pouring rain the the Westfield with water attacking her from every angle. I shall long remember the her response when, on coming up to to a tool booth I suggested that she unravelled herself from the four point belts, open push open the side screen, unzip the easyin hood zip and clamber out over the hot exhaust to get a ticket. Strangely I felt it wise not to ask again..... Maybe I'll make the March meet if all goes well this weekend

  11. Sounds good. Keep us posted, I'm sure you'll enjoy the drive in the Fez a lot more. Also, where size is concerned the Focus boot space is only something like 20 ltrs bigger than the Fiesta.

  12. After the Fiesta comments I asked the dealer and his wifes ex demo ST2 is also available. So bagging a run in that also. Unfortunately the Focus is the DERV one, but I will still give it a quick taz. If I like it enough he will arrange a petrol for a play. I'm just worried it is a little too small. But if it is a good spec / colour and I keep the Mundane as a mobile skip... Who knows... Understand the Dagenham Dave image, but living in the country I hope I will be seen as an eccentric not a chav. And despite Beemers being great cars, I have never, ever looked at one and said I want it. Leave me cold. Would genuinely prefer a characterful Ford than 'another BMW' And fast Fords have always been the UKs Mustang, something about that appeals to me..!

  13. Black, round and road legal would be a much better, simpler rule for the speed series. So much easier for the novices to understand. We could lead the way here, especially as it appears the organising clubs are putting us all into our own WSCC class at the venues anyway, i.e. we wouldn't have to comply with the MSA tyre rules in any case. It's a farce. Looking at the 2016 1B there is actually a super sticky tyre in there anyway, much better than an Avon or Kumho - but I'm not telling so nerrrrr!!!!!!

  14. Fiesta st will knock the socks off the focus hands down probably one of the best hit hatches around at the mo. Plenty of stuff out there to add more umph from montune etc. Figures of reliable 300bhp are knocking about from people who know what they are doing not just some chav with a big air filter. Just remember they are one of the most stolen cars in the UK at the mo In the 30k region I'd be looking at a nearly new 135i or 235i dealers are rpumeoured to verify knocking loads off them Only issue I have with either the st/rs/fiesta is the image they carry. Dagenham dave amd is mowtaaaah seems to be the people I see in them but that might be me.

  19. Hi Barny, The Clerk Of The Course has the final say on whether you can get a run or not, so don't assume the scrutineer can stop you from using your visor. Can you get shady contact lenses?
