  7. Hi Graham, Thanks for he reply. I will get hold of the manual you have recommended for a start. I see that I have a knowledgable area organiser from what I can tell from the forum in Dave Eastwood and I hope to pick his brains at the next area meet. From my limited experience of the club so far it seems everyone is helpful and I hope to meet a few people that share similar interests with the cars that can maybe help me along the way. Thanks again for your advice

  10. I have just made a test one with what was available in the house... Elastic is the way forward I think. It took 5 minutes to make and holds tight.

  11. I can't understand how a conventional dryer, vented to outside**, can cause internal dampness unless as dhutch said, it's not installed correctly ? **done correctly, not just a pipe stuck out of an open window..

  13. I guess like a lot of members, I tend to service my car in the winter. I decided to change the oil and oil filter today and as it was wall to wall blue sky, I thought I'd warm the car up properly for a couple of hours. In the end I did about 120 miles and it was fantastic to get out again. However 4 things blighted my first decent drive of the year. 1. It was bl**dy cold. I don't have a heater (didn't think I needed one being a Geordie). 2. The sun was very low and blinding at times (couldn't get my peak under the 2 beanies, neck-warmer and goggles. 3. There was a huge amount of cr*p, cow-sh*t and general grime on the roads which ended up being flung all over the car. 4. Did I mention it was cold? Car washed down, dried, run back up to temp again then into the garage and out with the sump plug and off with the oil filter. I'll let it drip for a couple of days before refitting. Still, all in all, it was the best afternoon I've had in a while.

  17. Take the fuse out of the dryer, next time the wife tries to use it she'll ask you to investigate why it wont work. Tell her it's beyond repair, take it to your local tip, save lots on elecrticity running costs, dry the clothes on a maiden or a horse and park your Westy up safely....
