  6. I guess like a lot of members, I tend to service my car in the winter. I decided to change the oil and oil filter today and as it was wall to wall blue sky, I thought I'd warm the car up properly for a couple of hours. In the end I did about 120 miles and it was fantastic to get out again. However 4 things blighted my first decent drive of the year. 1. It was bl**dy cold. I don't have a heater (didn't think I needed one being a Geordie). 2. The sun was very low and blinding at times (couldn't get my peak under the 2 beanies, neck-warmer and goggles. 3. There was a huge amount of cr*p, cow-sh*t and general grime on the roads which ended up being flung all over the car. 4. Did I mention it was cold? Car washed down, dried, run back up to temp again then into the garage and out with the sump plug and off with the oil filter. I'll let it drip for a couple of days before refitting. Still, all in all, it was the best afternoon I've had in a while.

  9. Shame you can't make it Barny. I think you summed it up perfectly. If you are warned about drive by noise and show willing, the operators will do their utmost to help and advise. It's in nobody's interest to have people kicked off if it's at all avoidable.

  10. http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B000KKNQBK/ref=acr_search_see_all?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 Not a joke in the usual sense. A link to a customer review page on Amazon (really!), laughed till I cried.
