  2. Lol, would if I could, seem to have bought "one of those" cars, you know, the kind that spends more time broken than working, despite throwing all the cash I can at it!! Will be ace to have it back in the garage at home though.

  3. If it helps, I'll be in C3 with ~160bhp and ~600kg. A friend of mine with a Hayabusa-powered MK Indy (195bhp and 500kg) will be in C2. I'd recommend joining the Facebook page for anyone interested in joining some/all of the events. Plenty of discussion there, along with all sorts of interesting cars coming out of the woodwork... Edit: now booked on for the first round in Blyton. Now I just need to put my car back together...

  5. The logbook for the bike arrived today. Which pleased me as the seller never had it when i purchased the bike, against my better judgement i bought it anyway (after doing a HPI). Anyway, i made a little progress tonight. I never mention when i started the topic that I'd like to go with a brat style with the bike. I know its not to some peoples taste but i've always liked that style of bike. With that in mind, i started on removing some of the brackets from the frame that i won't need. Side panel mounts, battery tray mount, etc. Before After I only got one side done as it was getting late but hopefully tomorrow i will finish the other side off. Im not sure yet if I'm going to cut the rear of the frame slightly and weld an upswept hoop in like this: Or just remove the bridging section between the 2 sides weld a brace in to mount the seat to. This is the style I'm going for with the bike: Mike

  6. Welcome! That Opel is gorgeous! Absolutely stunning. Have to agree with the others on the identity of the kit car though, the chassis is defo not a Westfield and the body is different too. Makes no difference to your membership here though, we welcome one and all!

  10. These harnesses are used by many forum members http://www.plays-kool.co.uk/acatalog/FIA_Harnesses.html One big advantage is these straps pull up to tighten not down and are released by lifting an alloy buckle. With the other versions you have to get out of the seat to adjust them. If you have a solid boot cover or lockable boot box the shoulder mounting bosses will be hidden but will be there. You will need to cut or drill the boot box or cover to fit the eyebolts. Your recommended garage or Blink would be Au Fait with fitting if you can't diy.

  11. Welcome, you will be surprised at what jobs you can do on a Westfield even if you have never swung a spanner in your life, the folks on this forum will help you out time and time again, so ask away and have a go, if not pop over to blink :-)

  12. Yep Steav they are the ones, 4 bolts each side, the threaded bosses are already welded in place so you don't have to measure or drill or anything like that. To get the lower bolts in you will probably have to remove the seats, again that is 4 bolts per seat, if you look under the car below the seat you will see 4 protruding bolts with nuts on, undo these and lift the seat out, bolt in the lower harness strap and put the seat back in, for the shoulder straps if you look at the crossmember behind the seat back, you will see 2 threaded bosses welded to the crossmember at shoulder height, screw the eyebolts in to these and clip the harness in, Bobs yer uncle and Mary's yer aunt It's ready to start driving again.

  13. Date is Saturday June 4th. There's no scrutineering at a trackday. When you sign on you are saying your car is fit for purpose.. sometimes they use words like "to MOT standards", although usually no MOT certificate is asked for. No requirements for specific roll bars either, although some organisers will not let a car out on slicks without a full roll cage. We only have one group to play in.. so there'll be novices through to racers. Tbh, I don't see this being a problem, as we all play by the rules.. I'm sure there will have been novices at previous days, if any would like to comment on this? Any more interest?
