  1. Thanks David, we had a week out there last year and visited St Gueno on the Saturday before the torrential ran on Sunday. Was planning another week this year but based at St Gueno. Probably still will have a week in France to visit and boo from the spectator's hill, maybe let a few tyres down, etc.

  2. Hi All, I have now realised a long term desire, and own a 2.0 Duratec Westfied on an 06 plate and I love it. Now.............. by my own admission, I'm NOT a mechanical person! So rely upon others to maintain vehicles for me. I'm looking to replace the inertia belts for harnesses, and am looking for someone in the Stoke-on-Trent area who could do this for me. Does anyone have any recommendations they could make? Any Westy friendly mechanic / garage would be wonderful. Also, my wife and I are looking for suggestions on touring routes in the UK which include hotels / cottages with good parking facilities as we don't fancy leaving the Westy on public car parks (for security reasons). Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and I look forward to perhaps meeting some of you in the N.Staffs/Cheshire area. Steav

  4. rather than use a top mounted pedal I used a Audi A4 sensor and made a link bar for my sensor to floor mounted accelerator pedal which meant I have mounted below the scuttle and can use a simple carbon cover admittedly none std due to new steering column

  7. Hyah Steav You dont have to be very mechanical to swap inertia belts for harnesses It's as simple as removing 3 bolts and replacing with 4 bolts per side The captive threaded bosses are allready there, so no welding or anything is required. HTH Paul

  9. Hi Steav, Welcome to the club. Regarding the holiday question, we went on 3 holidays last year in the Westfield and safely stayed at the following places:- Langcliffe House bed and breakfast, Kettlewell, Yorkshire Dales Greenhowe Caravan Park, Langdale, Lake District Ty Capel Bryn Mawr, Betws-Y-Coed, Snowdownia The roads surrounding all these places were brill in a Westfield. We are meeting at Ashbourne next Sunday and we are going to the Churnett Valley Railway if you want to meet some local members, you are welcome to come along. Don't worry if your car is SORN, just come for a brew and a natter if you like. Hope to see you soon, Julie

  12. Well it was a great day out yesterday, cool and a bit slippy in places but some good food and even better company. It was great to meet both Bens and their respective partners. In the car park at the Wheatsheaf. More pictures by the Derwent dam. I didn't get any pictures of the lunch stop at the Old Smithy in Monyash! We headed off to Ashbourne for fuel before heading home on the A515. So guess what happened……..it rained again and we both got wet again, not too much though. However, when you said about not smearing the windscreen when you cleaned it, what did you put on it as the wipers would not clear the water so I couldn't see when it got dark!!!!! Were you trying to get rid of us? BTW, in response to your opening statement Sue said were are not coming next week

  15. I have a condenser drier in my garage that replaced a vented drier and the difference in reduced humidity levels was very noticeable. You probably do, but keep the drier working at optimum by cleaning the condenser and filters and emptying the water collector. i.e. keep on top of the user serviceable tasks. If desperate, Instead of a stud and plasterboard wall, how about a strip plastic barrier suspended from a ceiling batten. That would separate the car from the utilities and allow easy access (assuming the utilities are at the back).

  19. Decided to use my 205 888's that I've had for years. Not prepared to waste money on rubber unless I can guarantee 2 seasons on a set. Still bitter that I've had to sell my super soft zzr's that had 4 events on.
