Anyone else enjoying the seemingly rare combination of snow and sun? I should have been plastering a bathroom - but the temptation to get out there was too much! This is near Wanlockhead (highest village in Scotland) a few miles from me.

What boiler and size (kilowatt rating) do you have Dom, and what size is the pipe feeding the boiler? If it's a combi it ought to be a 22mm supply minimum. The final factor is the length of the pipe run from the meter to the boiler. If you can tell me this info I should be able to give you a 99% sure idea of whether or not it'll be fine. If it is just a hob, most of them incorporate flame failure devices, the danger is using the hob and someone runs a tap which will make the boiler fire on a high rate and can in extreme instances take off the hob flame. If the combi demand then stops i.e. the water tap stops then gas could come back through the hob ring unlit. I am gas safe registered by the way and an ACS assessor and trainer. If you need to chat pm me a number and I can give you a ring. Just make sure whoever fits your hob is gas safe registered, they should be aware of the above. Rich.

I'm a big fan of Hymer B-class vans (I had a 1999 B544 for a few years) - 6m long, aluminium bodied with a roof you can stand on. Mine was a 12 year old van that only lost about 2K over 3 years (around 20K at the time). Buy on condition rather than age... Also, check you have seatbelts to match the number of berths (not all vans do) and sufficient payload to cope with bikes and towbar load

Fellow members, First of all, a very happy New Year to all of you! 2016 just happens to be the 30th anniversary of the founding of the WSCC, a significant milestone in our history that we will be marking and celebrating this year in a number of ways. One you already know about - our club stand at the Silverstone Classic on 29-31 July. The club's 30th anniversary is the reason we are being given the opportunity to do a parade lap around the GP circuit on Saturday the 30th, a detail we had to keep secret from you until today. We also today recognise the club's longest serving member, David Jenkins. David joined the club in 1986 while building his pre-lit, which he still owns! He has been a member all these thirty years, and was Member #1010 (effectively Member #10, as membership numbers started at 1000). The Committee decided to recognise and reward this achievement by bestowing Life Membership to David effective from today. Finally (for now anyway - more fun as the year goes on, you don't get to know about all the goodies today!) and back to the Silverstone parade lap. As we're celebrating our 30th, it's only appropriate we celebrate our Westfields that are thirty or more years old. Therefore, the Silverstone parade lap will be led by David Jenkins and his 1986 pre-lit... along with all WSCC members driving their pre-lits. So you pre-lit owners, book your Silverstone Classic tickets now, you're going to be the leaders and stars of the WSCC Parade Lap! So happy anniversary WSCC - here's to a great year ahead and to many more years to come!
