If you look on other kit car websites there is seemingly nothing happening, I might be wrong, but what a great club we have here. In January, 12 cars and, with the extra family members turning up, about 30 people, that's what I call a friendly and sociable club. So if you are reading this and thinking of joining in, you can be certain that you will be made welcome. An excellent turnout from Mr and Mrs Bioman, Rickyboy and Brooke, Martyn and Sue, Russ and Beth, Steve, Marcus, Graham, Dave, Robin, Barry, Chris and Matt. Thank you everyone very much for coming, and for being on time. 10 cars met at the Wheatsheaf Graham had a fuel leak on his Westfield so wisely came in his classic mini instead, which sat lovely in line with the others. Rickyboy was mid-convoy leader as he also knew the route, and he likes to be in charge a bit too you know . We set off up to 'Surprise View', into Hathersausage, along past Ladybower and onto the Strines road. Now I have not driven beyond the Strines for a good while and I have forgot what a fantastic road it is. It really challenges your driving ability, no falling asleep at the wheel. It has some very steep, twisty bits on narrow bridges. You can bottom out easily (twice on the way back) if you go too fast in the wrong place, you could actually take off at one point. Add in running water in random places and a few cyclists (it was part of the Tour De France route, the smooth tarmac bit), it makes for interesting driving. For the passenger there are good views too, we must do it more often Matt and his daughter were patiently waiting at The Mustard Pot and they joined the convoy. Then just past Crow Edge a madman waved us down, it was Barry waiting for us and he led us into the Oil Can Cafe, where we met Robin. The Oil Can Cafe car park Bioman assisted us with the doughnuts! thank you. After a little tyre kick, we went around the garage, before heading into the cafe. Steve's pre-lit car looking more modern every time I see it, I think they will steal the show at Silverstone Classic. There was only a short wait for tables and we were soon all munching away (Scott, you mentioned the goat in Jurassic Park?). Most people on our table had ordered Victoria Sponge cake for afters which we were satisfied with.....until Robin's White Chocolate cake arrived...'oooh that looks nice'....he was looking very worried at this point. Martyn and Sue made my day as they told me of their new GoPro, the trouble now is that I will be pestering them for footage all the time I love the Pinto up my, er, in my mirror, and now I have good reason. As the clock struck 2pm, sadly, it was time to leave. When the days get a bit longer we can do another stop on the way home and let the enjoyment of the day carry on, but regretfully, today, we have to press on. Well, Westfields scattered in every direction for the homeward leg of the journey. Unusually I had Matt in front of me and, crikey, up the hill from Jackson's bridge he was off. I know, I know, I am never going to catch a supercharged S2000, but I was squeaking with delight trying. I just hope I didn't spoil Russ's (behind me) fun too much. I think he was lagging behind a bit though . As soon as Trevturtle gives me a date (March-ish) we will be returning here and I, for one, can't wait. It has been a brilliant day and thank you to everyone for making it. Next Saturday, we are taking the scenic route around Ladybower reservoir, before going for lunch at the Snake Inn. Weekend after that, it is Steam in Staffordshire, calling in at Darley Moor airfield to finish. It's going to be a good year. Keep up.5 points

Wow, we must all be very determined to get out in our cars and everyone was subjected to the cold today, but Marcus/Ricky, snow! and Dave, rain! at the start, I admire you. Everyone did laugh though as Graham took off his coat and was just wearing a t-shirt, as he climbed into his mini, he took the verbal abuse well. It was good to see that everyone was appropriately dressed, showing that these cars are not just for the summer.2 points

Hi Nick I did ring Noreen Ward yesterday to clarify and she re-stated that Sports Libre was their class on the day for Modified Kit Cars including 1C tyres Please feel free to re-check as sorry I did not think about Bike Engine cars. Barney, Sorry to confuse I did mean Competition Car Log Book I agree there will be a lot of clarification going on during the year! G2 points

Had a crap end to nice meal with friends tonight. Some scumbag had the balls to walk into my house while we were entertaining, steal our coats and use the keys in the pocket to nick my car! Luckily it was not my beloved westy just the year old tin top. Not a happy bunny and still can't quite believe the sheer audacity of the thieving gits.1 point

Well thanks Barney for the regs ;- I think it's this 1B tyres Class 6 wscc B1 1C tyres Class 9 wscc D But I can understand Graham's comment as they have added Mod Kit to Sports Libre which I actually don't think is correct. Although they don;t seem to have a Bike Engine Mod prod. When things are not clear my personal advice is run in the lower class on the day if you think you should fit there. That way you should be most competitive and if your in the wrong class they can always move you. It's the club running the events responsibility to write clear regs. These days a more difficult task, particularly this year so if you do get asked to move don't get too worried.1 point

Welcome to the club. If you are not far from Middleton Hall we might see you there, they have a car meet every month in the summer that we will be going to. Are you water? S.G 1 specific gravity?1 point

MotCO, I have the same trouble when I'm north of Watford, although these days I spends a lot more time south of Nice where they actually speak French... There are some fairly easy to use free tools to help move along from trial and error. With about half an hour of reading and fiddling around these tools can be very useful indeed in planning a wifi deployment. Suffice to say for my work a wifi survey happens several times between initial testing and actual customer sign off. There is a free version of Ekahau heatmapper to help visualise the signal strength for an area. Used alongside InSSIDer on a PC or Wifi Analyzer on an Android phone it is possible to get a much better idea of what is happening with wifi and critically it helps to be able to see the differences when changes are made.1 point

Hi, I have for sale my Se W. It's an extremely well sorted car, which runs and drives beautifully (and quickly!). I also have pretty much every receipt and bill from when it was built. Spec 2.0 silvertop zetec running on twin Weber 45's with Dunnell management, inlet manifold and other bits S/s 4 branch manifold and pipe Spax adjustable shocks Immaculate TSW alloys with almost new Toyo Proxis (inc spare) Wilwood midilite 4 pot front calipers with vented discs. English axle with Quaife lsd and rear disc conversion. Full wet weather gear and Westfield wind deflectors. Quick release s/wheel, westfield seats, Willans harness' and immobilser. Light weight storm cover. The car is finished in dark blue with black interior/carpets and is very smart, though the nose cone really needs a repaint as it has crazed quite badly There is also a star crack behind the spare wheel and some chips to the front edges of the cycle wings, though they don't detract from the overall look. £6666.00 I'll post some pictures tomorrow (can't seem to load them from my phone). Any questions, please feel free to ask. Cheers, Steve1 point

I learnt down on't'farm too! First time on a tractor late teens, with an overloaded flat bed full of hay and a very old Massy. Didn't realise the 'hand' brake was a plate that locked the footbrakes down - so was very smelly when I got to the yard and almost didn't stop!1 point

Although I only made it to the café, it was good to see 11 Westfields, a mini and Barry in his Fiesta. . And this, White Chocolate Cake and a Latte. Mmmmmmm.1 point

The first two digits in the product number is the width (outside stead dimensions) at the hips, so an N39xx is 39 cm wide at the hips, and about 38cm of actual width in the seat, the second number is the width at the shoulders, so an Nxx46 is 46 cm wide at the shoulders, where as an Nxx42 is only 42 cm wide at the shoulders. However as you've noticed, there are two, (may be more now, but that's what it was when I last bought any) different heights for the seat, that's why normally it's best to discuss what you need when ordering, they can tell you which seats are the same height. And any other sleet variations. They do have dimensions on their web site though, here - http://www.jkcomposites.com/7s-page.html But like I say, always phone and discuss what you need etc as they have further options not listed on the web site, also make sure you tell them what version of Westfield chassis you have, (wide or narrow etc) and in particular what the tunnel is, (Type 9, MT75, T5, SEiGHT, S2000 etc) as they're all different and all limit the width of seat that will fit.1 point

That's terrible. Where was your 'security hound'? I hope they crash in a ditch on the moors and die a long painful death...............1 point

Can only echo the above Chris On the other hand, does your partner AO Nick have an alibi? He's a bit quick off the mark to express his sympathies - makes me a bit suspicious.1 point

Really sorry to hear that Chris, that seems to be the way cars are nicked these days, pinch the keys from the house. But look on the bright side, it will have been insured and no-one in your family was hurt.1 point

You need an MSA competition licence that covers hill climbs and sprinting to enter WSCC speed Series events Usually its a National B licence ( non race ) Speed Have a look at the beginners guide which is in the Speed Series Section of the Boardroom1 point
