  1. Chris, good post. It's not often that Westfield get some praise, more often giving them some stick from members not understanding they are a small volume car manufacturers and the problems that can cause, which we won't get into. I'm of in the garage to get ready for my delivery by Westfields on Tues which they are doing of their own bat. You can't beat that can you. Merry Xmas to Chris and the Westfield factory. Ho ho ho

  2. I popped up to the factory today ( Saturday) to collect my long range fuel tank. I arrived at the factory gate at 12:03 to find it locked so I went to leave the industrial estate to find Simon locking up the whole estate. After a bit of a panic he opened up the gate and after a brief conversation he offered to open up the factory and get my tank. So we returned to the factory and he found my tank and straps. I wish to give a good and public thumbs up for his good nature and offer an apology if he was late for dinner.

  5. Just a massive thankyou for the people who attended today. We had a brilliant day with loads and loads of laughs. A few scares and screams and I think everyone of us had an "experience" in the York dungeon. The food after was first class with a brilliant atmosphere and everyone agreed it was a first class day. A big thankyou for the gifts that I received also at the end of the day. it was a lovely surprise.

  6. You don't need it, it is only there to keep the cable located in the fork properly. They always used to deteriorate due to oil contamination so got the left shoulder treatment ( chucked away ). We fitted hundreds of ford clutches in the garage I worked in in the 80s and 90s and if contaminated never refitted these and never had an issue. If you feel it may not stay located put a bit of silicone sealer around it but shouldn't need it.

  7. Jon, My clutch cable also has the rubber piece you are referring to, fits around the cable and sits on the inner side of the clutch fork. I recently replaced my clutch cable as part of maintenance prior to next years trips and found this piece, took me about 30 minutes to remove it. I did notice that when I put it on the new cable it forced the inner cable across at such an angle the inner cable rubbed on the outer cable. When I took it off and locked the cable nipple behind the smaller of the two holes the cable runs straight and is not likely to rub like the old one did so I have not refitted it. Ian

  10. Jesus, don't be putting that idea in his flippin head. does he change the sorn address just before its moved (which technically is an offence) or change it afterwards (again not 100% legal). I think he'd have to update the sorn details when it's equidistant between the 2 drives, and hope nobody questions it....

  11. Rhett - don't forget that when (or if) you move it, you will have to change the SORN address!!

  12. Do you by any chance work for the Government and enjoy working yourself up worrying about red tape??? Just push the bl**** car next door, unless of course your road is permanently craving with police cars and VOSA inspection officers. Otherwise I am sure a few '7' owners could push it for you whilst you were not looking.....
