  1. I just wanted to say a big thankyou to Mark from carbon NV for my new cycle wings. The quality looks amazing and I am really happy. So looking forward to getting them on Buttercup. The communication has also been excellent and I have been kept informed throughout. Anyway here are some pictures for you all to drool over. :t-up:

  2. Cool - thanks for the feedback. i understand why the rubber mounts would allow the rack to move in the mounts but didn't know if there was enough movement to be noticed. I think I'll give them a try. Thanks! dave

  3. Just like to say a big thankyou to the people who ventured out today and joined in with the day activities. Carol, Carol, Rob, Grace, Russell, Martin, Dave and myself. We had some good food with Grace having the biggest hot dog known to man. Some fun antics in the amusements with the children even playing on the children's rides.....By children I do mean fully grown adults but I suppose it is a simple mistake to make. From then on it was bowling with Dave not letting on that he could bowl. He blamed me for not asking. I showed Grace some of my magic tricks and she said I was the best magician in the world.....well she did not exactly say that but I think that's what she meant in a round a bout way. Terror Tower after that which was entertaining with the dead bodies and aliens round every corner. Not forgetting the blood curdling screams but then Carol could always be scared easily. The best bit was next....Lemon Tops. These are ice creams and they are better than sex and last a lot longer......Every time I say that, Carol always nods in agreement. It was then a walk round the harbour looking at the boats and lighthouse before heading home. We have really had a lovely day and it was so relaxed with loads of laughs and everyone really got on with no-one left out. A big thankyou to you all for making it such a great day. :t-up:

  4. Dave, It should feel slightly more postive/sensitive at the steering wheel input. With the standard rubber bushes, transferring the rotation torque at the steering wheel to a linear motion at the rack causes the track rod arms to push and pull on the steering hub arms. Some of this motion will be lost in absorbtion by the rubber bushes (Einsteins theory of relativity says "for every action there is is an equal and opposite reaction"). Basically the arm moving out from the rack tries to push the rack inwards away from it, some of this movement is absorbed by the rubber. The aluminium mounts clamp the rack rigid and therefore the input is direct to the steering arms. I hope that makes sense.

  7. Hi Martin It may be heavy but it's a torquey b******* and the basis of a great racing car range. I'm pretty sure the Zetec will live in its shadows. Barry
