  3. Just had my weekly skeg at PistonHeads looking at the kit cars currently for sale. In terms of Caterhams and Westfields, there are a few, on both models' pages, that have been there a while but what struck me was the number of Caterhams for sale (160) compared to the Number of Westfields (42). Granted, there are normally more adverts for Caterhams than Westfields, but over the last few years I can't remember it being as high as 160...! According to Government data, with some caveats for statistical inaccuracies, there are about 1000 Westfields and 2200 caterhams on the UK roads at present. So, given the ratio on the roads, and everything else being equal, you'd expect the turnover of Caterhams to Westfields to be about 2:1, when on P/H its more like 4:1 Granted this is only on PistonHeads which may not be truly proportional but it got me thinking: Why so many Caterhams for sale at the moment....? Maybe I should get out more....

  6. Small world :-) Well the mini se7en club has gone nuts - grids have gone huge, with new ones being built and more people looking to buy...problem is none are for sale! Do they still have theirs?? Thanks for sharing the pic :-) You'll have to get it uploaded to a facebook group my mate runs - RetroMini7pics. You're free to pop over and check my se7en out some time (engine just taken out!) and of course get back to the meets!! It's a great club and quite a few of us around this area. FYI, my facebook page link is in my signature. Great to hear a few Westfields in the area, can't wait to meet up with you guys...getting excited now! I'm hosting an event this Thursday at Simply Race (sim racing) so unfortunately can't meet up this Thursday otherwise I would have. I'll try and get some pics up later...

  7. I fully appreciate I could just be a one off but very wary of booking.com now after pre-booking a hotel 7 months in advance for paris roubaix event only for them to cancel two days before leaving us no options but over an hour away for a 5:30am start with twice the price. They did finally reburse us after battling for three months.

  8. 700 euro should get you something. Looked last year but went to Austria instead. Suggest you get something like booking.com app and book it now so you don't miss out as they fill up quite quick. In fact just looked and good cheapish rooms are going quick.

  11. Would echo Dave's point about a straight cut box (Quaife type 9 sprint ratios in my case) - that if you are planning on doing a lot of touring, the noise will get to you (or your passenger!), despite the obvious competition / strength advantages of a SC box. Great when you are pressing on, and using the box as its designed, but get to a long road section in 5th and its earplugs time...or run in 4th which is direct. Dave.

  13. The 'box for my old sprint car was built for me by Steve Perks (SP Components) and worked perfectly. And that was with an engine running up to 9,000 rpm and knocking out 272 bhp, and around 180 lbs/ft of torque. It was based on the type 9 Ford 'box, and never gave me any trouble.

  18. Something I definitely would like to enter, but definitely will not be able to next year. BUT will definitely look at option to come down and spectate if doesn't clash with other activities.

  19. Not sure of the official name, but it's the panel that goes above all the gauges in the following picture and spans from the far left to the far right. it's got a couple of holes for the tonneau cover in it, but it's in great condition. Anyone know what they are called so I can try to find out what it's worth so what to advertise it at?
