  4. I had new front and rear shock absorbers fitted at procomp last week, so mine old ones are spare. They are free of leaks and have worked ok on my car for the last few years.. Gaz or spax dampers I'm not sure Instead of putting the shocks on ebay I thought I would offer them free of charge to anyone who need them for a build and can then use them to drive to the iva or drive to somewhere like procomp (other suppliers are available) to buy new shocks ,get them fitted and geometry set up in one go. My only request is you collect them, pay the postage for delivery and ensure they are returned to the wscc forum when you have finished your build. The intention is not to provide the first person with free shocks indefinitely...... they need to be passed on to the next builder. Thanks Trevor Oh before I forget. The new protect dampers and springs and the geo setup are a great improvement. .softer, much better handling and the car is less 'nervous'

  5. That was some poor etiquette from the MX5, he was clearly holding the orange Westy up but was not moving over Not sure the orange Westy should have been trying to pass where you were to be honest!

  6. ‘So you really enjoy driving your Westfield do you?’ ‘Yes, of course’ I hear you say. Well, lets see who enjoys life the most by entering this new competition, Julie’s Battle of the Odo’s. The MOT certificate records an odometer reading and this competition is looking for the biggest difference between the 2014 and the 2015 odometer reading on your Westfield’s MOT certificates. In my opinion getting the ‘Westfield’ miles in makes you a winner anyway. The prize is £50 worth of vouchers to spend at the Westfield Factory Parts Department to help with your maintenance costs. So put the tin tops away, get wrapped up and go for it. Big thanks to Simon Westwood and Westfield Sports Cars for generously donating the prize! The Boring Bits The mileage must be in a Westfield. The competition is open to WSCC members only, not the Committee or Area Organisers. Include your name, address and membership number with your entry. The closing date is midnight 15th November 2015. Submit entries to peak@wscc.co.uk with a copy of both MOT certificates attached. The judge’s decision is final. You must agree to your entry being published in Westfield World magazine and online in the WSCC forum. Prizes must be redeemed within 12 months, is non-transferable and no substitute prize or cash equivalent will be offered.

  7. That's the spirit Dave, it all makes for a good story even if you don't win. And yes Q, I do have your address and I have to admire your confidence, but these are a competitive lot and I am sure they won't let you win that easily, right?

  9. I use this camera and screen as a rear-view/ reversing setup: here's the sensor I bought: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item461b246b56 and here's the display: http://www.amazon.co...ailpage_o03_s00 you could fit a sensor each side and then use a double pole 3 position ON/OFF/ON switch to select which side gets power... EDIT: just checked, and that monitor doesn't have image reversal, so might do your head in if you weren't expecting it.... EDIT2: you need a non-mirror camera like this:

  13. If you check this link http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/115197-a-happy-bunny/ , I had an issue with deterioration of the GRP at the front of the tub moulding, so cut it out, had aluminium flared panels made up and powder coated. It really adds to the look (in my opinion ).

  14. I had a phase when I started to resurrect previous memories, mid life semi crisis maybe. It was about 15 years ago and I started to re-collect tea and also cigarette cards, they are collectable but of no great value. I have sets which are ones that my old man gave me from his youth when I was a lad so I guess a bit nostalgic. probably part of the ageing process. I haven't bought any for quite a few years now but still have my sets of stuff like old 20/30s cars, locomotives, gardening hints, Brook Bond sets etc etc. Bit anal but interesting historical items for when for example the grandkids want to know what vinyl records ( I actually bought a 45, Telstar by the Tornados my first record purchase and can't play it ) where and what it was like in the old days eh 60's onwards. Kids eh. Pokémon cards will or are the new collectables I guess. Bit like building a Westfield when I wanted a "7" style car as a yoof in the mid 60's £970 complete but couldn't afford it. Got one now though. Haha Went up the Shard last week, bucket list job, bit pricey but done now. Bob just a big kid at heart. :d
