  1. Everytime I've been out in the Westfield since Mondays Gold Cup I seem to have been followed by the smell of burning hay! A quick check after the meet on Thursday, and i realised that as well as looking like I'd rallied the car in Oulton's muddy fields, I had half an acres grass mixed in with the mud all over the exhaust and the cat, and even stuck in the cats heat shield. So an hour or two with the hose etc this afternoon and it's all shiny again, hopefully I won't smell ike a farmer burning off the stubble now!

  7. Made a new mount and tried it out today. I couldn't really tell when it was filming or not and was quite surprised when it ran out of power at around dinner time. Found out why when I got home and down loaded the videos. I've got two videos that last 32 minutes and some over 10, so I've probably got around 2 hours filming time. The mount isn't strong enough, and vibrates too much, mk2 needed. The first video starts off clear, but about 20 mins in starts to get cloudy with condensation, but clears at about the same time the battery runs out. I'll keep on trying.

  9. Three cars from the Wirral and North Wales clan did the Evo triangle on Thursday. It was wet, which made it interesting and certainly held the attention. We also did the drovers trail from Bala to near Trawsfynydd. This road has 5 gates but once you are through them the road and the scenery are superb. Highlight of the day though was undoubtedly the hot chocolate muffin with vanilla ice cream in Barmouth. Drovers trail near Trawsfynydd. Graham with a small slice of Jeff's chocolate cake at the Gold Cup. Westies and cake seem to be recurring themes.

  11. Robin Hoods (the kits) have progressed a lot in the last few years, prior to that, the kits were very very basic, though priced accordingly, and required lots of work from the builder. Building a really great one took a lot of effort and skill, simply getting on the road in some fashion took some hard work and dedication. That said, the ability to get on the road for such small sums, with some effort, brought a lot of people into the hobby that might not otherwise have got into it.
