  1. Och, I guess it's because we get to see this kind of scenery all the time - whilst it's stunningly beautiful, we don't stop to take many pics! Lined up at Kilmahog and ready to go! Always said there's too many yellow ones in our Area .. considering painting mine baby blue! The (Blue) Oyster Inn..! View over Ardmucknish Bay towards North Connel.

  2. Hello Robert. I know what you mean about the pictures not doing Justice. My first time in Scotland I took hundreds upon hundreds of pictures and was gutted when I looked at them. They just cannot show how spectacular your part of the country is.

  7. I've ordered the standard full FW kit, so a 2L Zetec. For a while I thought about taking the SDV route, but with no experience of the usual donor vehicles have shied away from that for my first build. When I've build the the David and passed the IVA, the upgrades will begin...

  10. Well that was a very good day but a little exhausting! Left home at 7.30am, returning at 7.30pm having covered 264 miles, phew! Some good roads, many pretty villages and driving on former runways were some of the highlights whilst on the move . Running up the Jet Provost was the highlight of the non driving time together with the usual chat . However, the lowlights were food, or lack of it at the lunch stop and almost missing the…..er….. almost a cream tea! Although Sue and I have visited some of the RAF memorials before, we would like to have stopped at all of them and some of the other significant features but there was not time in the schedule. I think it was an airfield too far!

  17. Oops, and sorry, forgetting my manners! Welcome to the club building is a great experience, the highs are great, and fortunately, there's usually very few lows, (and nothing that can't be overcome), and of course the odd low, is what makes the end result so satisfying and helps give such a great sense of accomplishment. You'll find masses of support and encouragement on here. NEVER, NEVER be afraid to ask! It's often said, but there really is no such thing as a daft question. (May be one or two daft answers, of course! ). Do do try and pop along to your local meets, too. Don't worry that you haven't a Westfield yet, it honestly doesn't matter, you'll be just as welcome what ever you arrive in, and you'll find lots of inspiration and people only too willing to let you see the cars up close and how things fit together. Don't panic if they're arranging runs out either, just make yourself known to the AO (Area Organiser) at the meet - easy to spot in the blue club shirt with their name on the front - there are almost always spare passenger seats going, and most club meet attendees will be only too willing to give you (and your lad, if he wants to come along) a ride out at any of the events. Its great for motivation too! If you're not sure where your nearest meets are, there's a handy map here.
