  6. Don't give her Mc. D's. I would call that Child Cruelty. As for a seat, I have a polystyrene booster seat as well, for my 8 year old grandson, just the bottom part. Used a saw to cut it to fit the JK seat snugly then put the cover back on. You don't need extra straps on these booster seats, they are designed for normal seat belts and 4, 5 or 6 point belts give even more security. You'll be driving gently as well with a precious gargo on board.

  8. Thanks guys I will feed her a few Maccy Ds to build her up. For now I think the right thing to do is to let her sit in Buttercup and play. I am just worried that if I brake and the bolster shoots forward then she will drop out of the harness. She is not the biggest of girls.

  9. I was just about to post likewise. I believe that bolster seats have to be secured using approved fixings ie using the existing seatbelt loops! As much as I've been tempted to give friends' kids of a similar age a ride, I've kindly refused .. .. far too risky, IMO!!

  10. I have a 4 & 6 year old & found with jk's, harnesses & a bolster the harnesses still don't fit correctly. So I just gave them a run around the block on the estate, I wouldn't feel comfortable to go any further. Andy

  12. At aged 7 she should just be on a booster, I just purchased a polystyrene booster off of ebay. It fits in my narrow fine but you could always amend the shape to fit in a race seat.

  13. I have JKs and Willans with standard road buckle. I've tried my mates young ones in mine and IMO any with narrow shoulders would be compremised in a high deceleration situation. With more 'race' style harnesses the shoulder straps get closer near buckle as they clip directly into it, so would be safer with smaller shorter Ickle ones.

  14. LOVE that mines good at all things... *Looks good *Comfortable and flexible for day long journeys/blats *We're fast on track as current duel for SS Class A honours demonstrates *Reliable HATE Nothing, although Wish it was excellent at everything rather than a compremise for all uses. But this is something only owning 2 Westies would fix

  15. Back to the Type 9 box. The 4 speed had a reputation in its day, but the 9 was thought to be a bodge. Mine has worked well until yesterday, when it decided to go into 3rd instead of 5th. Not good at 120 mph, but its proved that the engine's good to over 9,000 rpm And there's nowhere left to drive it properly on public road

  16. If you are recording on demand programmes, doesn't really matter what speed you broadband is running at, it will eventually record the whole programme. If the download speed is really, really slow, say 200kb.s. or less, the hosting server may kick you off. If you want to stream the programme direct to your TV and watch straightaway you'll need about 4meg. for HD programmes, SD quality needs 500Kb.s. Most on demand TV companies only allow you to keep the content for a limited time on your recorder. You cannot record programmes direct from BBC iPlayer. As mentioned by others, recording live TV and Satellite programmes has no impact on your broadband connection and you can keep the recording as long as you like.
