  1. It belongs to a neighbour's father - he's visiting for a wedding and has borrowed my garage while he's here.

  2. I was going to start up the British Apathy Society, but then I thought, why bother? It probably wouldn't be worth joining anyway.

  3. I always drive my Westie with my dipped beams on, but my new LED indicators are now a bit lost underneath them. I was looking to install some side facing indicators, when at the same time I came across some very nice looking DRL/indicators with so called 'switchback' function. This means that the DRLs go out temporarily when the indicators are on. When the indicators are off again, the DRLs come on again. Conveniently, the dimensions of them are a nice fit for my cycle wings, so I ordered them and waited a couple of weeks for them to arrive from the US. First I needed to create some brackets to hold them in place Then mark the cut out on the cycle wing and attack it with the Dremel And finally after lots of sanding, filing, and my new best friend, Gorilla glue, it looks like this For the indicators visible from either side, we simply drill a hole Still need to connect all the wiring but the below video of the manufacturer reveals what it will look like

  5. IMO the drive over to Ulpha from Duddon Bridge and from Cockley Beck over Wrynose will be the driving highlights. Hardknot is very bumpy and rough to drive with some tight hairpins (did it in MX5 early July) but if you can find somewhere to stop at top brill views I recommend Cracoe Farm Shop Cafe for brunch. And Bluebird Cafe at Coniston Launch with a lovely view across Coniston Chesters Cafe at Skelwith Bridge is very good. Have a good one, and hope there's not too much tourist traffic being start of summer hols.

  10. Skype is another social tool that's completely changed the game. It's amazing being able to call anywhere internationally, free, with video. I remember as a kid being hugely excited about a phonecall Australia, and the time lag made it almost impossible. Now we Skype with both sets of parents weekly, work calls to the European offices, all for free.

  12. You can have a MeBook. Just sign up to Facebook and don't invite any friends. Only you, the NSA and GCHQ will be able to see your stuff. I find it useful after moving out of the country, I have mates I grew up with in Canada and Australia, uni mates in Myanmar, Netherlands, Poland, New Zealand, Switzerland, Bali, all over England, Scotland and Wales. Mates in Abu Dhabi and Qatar - can we pop over in the weekend? Mates in the army in any given country, it was especially useful when these army mates were in Afghan and Iraq to keep their morale up being in regular contact with the lads at home and sharing old jokes and family stories. It's good to keep in touch, share photos and stories without ringing up a huge phone bill or waiting a week for a letter and photos to be delivered.

  14. This is getting silly. I had some t-shirts made that included the WF roundel and Simon said fine and could he have one please! There is no problem as far as I can see with any supplier making money out selling us t-shirts. After all who's paying for them? Not the factory
