  1. Finally.... I have a number plate. I rang them up first thing this morning for the usual check up/nag etc. And she instantly recognised my name and said oh wait a minute, ah yes we've just assigned you a number, I can give it to you over the phone now if you want, but not by email. Fine, yes please!! I said. So I noted it down. I asked if I can get some plates made up and drive it, is it taxed etc? She said yes. Docs are on their way to me. So I've ordered some "show plates" (as I can't get them done locally due to having no docs yet) and paid for special delivery so they should arrive tomorrow morning. Looks fairly sunny tomorrow fingers crossed, for its first outing!

  4. The 1.6 rule is constantly evolving and IMO the SS comittee made good steps into 2015. Unfortunately in classes where the front runners rarely get near 100 points 1.6 events can have a big impact on that classes overall championship. It is too early to fully see this year yet so time will tell for 2015. But there has already been several 1.6e events where competitors got far more points than they would normally achieve including myself.

  8. After moving to the middle east, it's £20 for a full tank of fuel so why not bimble about in a 4.2L supercharged V8 with 420bhp as your daily driver?

  10. as a former insurance underwriter in company markets i would suggest Hiscox as the best personal lines insurer.... very clear wordings and very good claims management (and I have no association with them in any way)

  11. We have done loads of trips in europe the only bit we book is the tunnel! Then drive untill youve had enough. I have always been a map man but have to say a few years ago was bought a sat nav as a present, i am now converted! Tthe sat nav tells me at the push of a button how far the next fuel station is and in what direction which alllows you to go that extra distance before stopping. When you fine somewhere you wanted to stay we always stopped pressed few buttons on the sat nav, picked the star rating and it came up with hotels on the map with phone numbers, we would pick town center as thats what we wanted phoned checked costs etc and always picked somewhere with secure parking almost aways undercover, job done. Saved so much time. We always haggled a bit and had fun with the people we meet which often resulted in somekind of special deal. Its not for everybody to book on the fly but for us its so much more flexible be driving through a fantastic place and be able to just say thats it we staying here. Practiacl tip if you dont have a spare wheel; for motorcycles you can get a punture kit which has a metal tool in to insert rubber bungs and some mini gas cylinders for inflation, buy some extra gas for our bigger tyres, these are ideal for the westfield as that up very little space. Not a permanant repair but has got me a few hundred miles home with out and trouble!! Babywipes!!! Very handy for alsorts of cleaning eg hands, flys off windsceens etc etc Also have a good clear out! Pack clothes you have had for too long and throw it all away at the end of each day, you load gets lighter and no washing when you get back..........result

  12. Hi guys, I have a surplus-to-requirements Race Technology DL1 and Dash3 combo. I had a DL1 for years but bought this kit recently for the Dash3 upgrade, however have decided to do less racing this year so it won't be needed. The logger comes with custom made rechargeable battery pack (and associated charger) from a radio controlled car, looking at the specs of the battery and logger it should give about 60 hours battery life - I've certainly never had it run out! The loom also has a switch installed and an inline fuse as recommended by Race Technology. Also included is a brand new Dash3, it's not 'locked' to the logger so I could sell it separately if required. In the bundle is the carrying case, official RT GPS antenna (plus one spare), 1GB memory card (I'll leave my data on it if you like), card reader and serial lead. The software can be downloaded from the net and is very powerful. I can post some examples of how it's used if anyone would like to see. Pics (click for larger)... And here it is installed under the dash in my car - happy to include the mounting plate as well if anyone would like it. Just bolts to the tunnel top and leaves the logger almost perfectly level (best for accelerometer accuracy). Looking for £420 for the lot including next day UK courier postage, or £300 for the logger with battery and £140 for the Dash3. Many thanks, Adam
