I think they are excellent goals. If you're content, who cares? Let him be the one to lose 10 years of his life to stress and workload whilst you enjoy yours. Work to live not live to work, took me many years of 12-hour day 7-day week power station outages to fully realise that one.2 points

I've been running black outdoor cat5e cable around my bungalow, Stuart- not too bad with a long 8mm SDS bit straight through the wall. I lost patience with previous power line network across multiple MCB's and decided to change to proper cables...2 points

Hi, What's the best (and legal) way to attach number plates? I'm having my car trailered back tomorrow so as soon as my v5 comes through, I'm ready to stick the plates on and go Cheers Glyn1 point

You know this Blyton thingy – it’s a Speed Series weekend event and a trackday on the Friday – right?? Actually it’s all that and more. On the Saturday morning there will be a run out followed by a Show’n Shine. The idea is to try and get more people to Blyton and to encourage them to see what a Westfield can do on a track whether it’s a more or less standard road car or a motorcycle engined flyweight that revs to somewhere north of 14k. We'll set off at 10:00am on Saturday 11 July and head north to sunny Scunny and then on towards the Humber Estuary. We will be able to see the Humber Bridge and across to Hull. Just before we get to Barton upon Humber we’ll turn right and travel alongside the River Ancholme back south towards Brigg. We then get onto the A46 towards Market Raisen and turn right onto the ‘Top Road’ (which indeed it is) and head west back towards Gainsborough. A right turn will take us up to Blyton and we were back at the circuit at around 12:30. Once we are back, I'll judge your pride and joys (Westfields only) for their proximity to perfection. Some allowance (wriggle room!) will be made for those Westys that are not 100% clean following the run out!! The prize will be a year's subscription to a magazine of your choice and a write up and photographs in the next issue of Westfield World. There's then some time for lunch before the Speed Series guys get out for some serious competition on the track. All in all a concentrated day of Westfielding!! I hope you will join us!1 point

From our chats at the few Sprints, you met the limit of your cars handling and your ability to handle it's shortcomings. We were all very worried when you didn't return to the paddock and it's great that your safe and sound. It's brilliant that you've brought electricity to the track, and I'm glad you haven't ruled out a return. Sort the handling and you won't need to slow down AND you'll probably embarrass a few of us with your times. The photographer is emailing me proofs of my Westie, so when he does I'll pass his contact details on. Will you still be at the awards? should definitely win the 'Turf Trophy' with that one!1 point

Another one for "Sticky Stuff Remover". I've used it for a few years now, its available from Halfords, and works really well. And apparently very friendly stuff, so much so they say you can use it in kids hair etc to get chewing gum out or whatever else they may have put in there....1 point

On a Sunday, desperate times call for desperate measures - they were the only people open. Fat lot of good that did me. Why not both? Funny guy. Looks like a good new avatar for someone... Nope, not making it up, just enjoying only spending £28 on parts to make The Wench sing smoothly again, rather than spend days with a laptop fruitlessly remapping the ignition and chasing ghosts. New school is cool, but old school still has its place as well.1 point

Label remover by any other name I've actually got to do this job myself soon, i've got some neoprene tape, but it's just finding the time to do it. It's best done post blat, as the heat makes the job MUCH easier. I bought a 400ml can of label remover by RS components, someone was selling them on eBay for about £6 each. Last time I did it with Ambersil label remover (but effectively same stuff).1 point

Mine came by email, and Paul now has them by email. Mind you, you need a magnifying glass to read the entry list!!1 point

Agree to both points... As for the second point, they can a) vote and b) own guns - sigh... But going back to the footy, I've discovered I CAN watch a footy match. I just can't watch the hysterical, overpaid primadonnas that play the mans game. Its some what ironic that the ladies play in a more masculine way and the men mince about as if their nail varnish is still wet...1 point

I can't believe I'm reading things on parts availability from a company such as Westfield. This may throw a cat amongst the pigeons but I was wondering if anyone had any experience of building any other kit cars other than westfield. One thing that really, really surprised me when I picked up my Westfield, was the build and parts manual. You can actually by everything from them like a model car?... I expected a little more innovation and builder engineering tbh. I started to build a Robin Hood at the age of 20. I built this on my drive, by myself and shoehorned a turbo technics 2.1 Pinto in it, all because someone told me I couldn't do it. BUT when I picked the "Kit" up from the factory, I was a little surprised as to what I got. Granted, they built the tubular chassis, I had a few sheets of metal, a nose cone, bags of random nuts, bolts etc and four VHS tapes as the "instruction manual". These tapes were pure comedy in themselves, their lovely rottweiler walking into shot, picking up a random hammer and strolling off with it. It was like Carry On Kit Cars, but it was brilliant at the same time. But what I wasn't prepared for was a ton of original thinking and ingenuity, stripping donor cars, and cutting up wheel hubs, turning them upside down and making a sliding pillar suspension system from scratch. Learning how to make a loom, soldering, re-mapping, wiring, material work, sewing, moulding, welding and fabrication. The panels you cut out yourself with tin snips and bent into shape, drilled and then riveted in place. I think I went through at least four Sierra's! lol I thought the Westfield system would be a similar thing, and tbh my heart sank a little when I read though it like a catalogue. The Westfield, is leagues ahead of the Robin Hood in terms of quality and craftsmanship, but for old skool engineering the Robin Hood wins hands down. What else have you guys built over the years?1 point

All builds are what you make of it tbh, even though you get a comprehensive build manual you don't have to follow it, if you have the skills and tools and can see ways of improving Westfield parts/designs you can. You do hear Westfields referred to as 'Lego' cars in the kit car world though as they go together so easily and well. Quality of Westfields looks to be way better than other manufacturers though from what I've seen, bodywork and welding of chassis's for instance are easy to see.1 point
