  1. We had a great time, except that Pickmaster had serious mechanical problem, and Gary had a gremlin. But a little birdy tells me that all will be revealed in a blog shortly. In the absence of Tel's Tales, we may have Sally's Scribbles. Gary and I couldn't understand why his class F target was easier than my class D target, however. Gary's target in class F was 46.13, mine in class D was 45.35!! Is there a mistake somewhere?

  3. Hi Julie, And thanks for the welcome and the invite, I am working on the Webers at the moment, once we have the old lady running correctly, plus I am in for my M.O.T. next Saturday. I will look to get over to the local meet. I am still getting used to a crowd gathering around me when I stop, every one waves and smiles and kids keep shouting "Nice car mister" Cheers for Now

  4. Unfortunately mine is in bits again (finally fitting my new rear lights) but only manage short spells on garage! Should be finished tonight then a quick clean, new tyres on and I'm set for summer (if it comes!)

  5. Could you post up a picture of your plate ? See the following link to the MOT manual : https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/429032/mot-inspection-manual-classes-3-4-5-7-vehicles.pdf Page 146 says words to the effect that plates should only be failed where spacing and character sizes are clearly incorrect , I assume the plate is not trying to read something else , on something like this it should really be common sense as testers as noted are not required to physically measure the characters or their spacing - yes it also says this on the notes in page 146 . Hope this helps . Julian Edited to add , I would have a chat with them if you think it is unreasonable after reading the manual , or directly email me info@aerodynamix.co.uk and I will give you my opinion as to what I would do if I was testing it .

  10. Where are you Paul! Managef to set it up in my garage and came up with a reading of 544kg with 3/4 tank of fuel. Thinking that 53*kg is quite possible with alloy radiator and modern fan and a lightweight battety. Not bad with a windscreen

  11. Sorry, only just found this - as Chris said, you'll get more traffic in tech talk, don't worry, you can post in much the same way. One thing I would say - it's much easier to drill for and fit all the cable tie saddles for the loom etc without the aluminium panels in palace - especially those that run down the tunnel.

  12. Might be to late but use countersunk rivets on the outside of the floor plates as it makes the bodywork easier to slide over later. Also you should have fitted the loom saddles before the panels or its a bit awkward(but do able)

  13. In all honesty - I'd recommend moving this to a build thread in the 'tech talk' section of the forum. The blogs don't tend to get followed quite as much (in my experience) but build threads do! You'll get a load more feedback and helpful pointers that way. Your call though - and either way enjoy the build, I loved doing mine and was out in it properly for the first time yesterday!
