  1. Nice try Dave, maybe next time, say in the winter when the weather is better! It's a quickie write up today because I am rushing off out to celebrate Glen's 60th birthday, so here we go. Who turned up today? we had tricky with wife Liz but in the Audi due to no roof, MattyCatty, MartynV and Sue, Syman84 and his father-in-law, making 5 seven style cars. Not bad for a rainy day. We had a quick brew while Simon got properly dressed and put his T-Shirt on the right way round, whoops. I had my roof on just in case it proper rained, and at The Strines it knows how to do that, fortunately it never really came down. All the cars at The Strines We threw the plan out of the window, I had carefully chosen a 'Bank Holiday' route but with no traffic about we changed it and went up Winnats Pass. The slow car in front turned off and YES, at last, a free run at the pass, sweet. Then, problem, Simon ran out of electricity. We did the only decent thing and left him to await recovery. On we went over the hills, past the Dragon's Back where we slowed to admire the view, until we got to The Winking Man for lunch. Just the 3 of us now. We had a wiggle round through Buxton finishing up at The Old Smithy where Sue and I discovered that we could be cousins, no not really, are you sure? Thank you to everyone for coming and fetching the cars out on a dodgy day, I'm off to put me posh frock on and high heels...me in high heels...it has been known...only on New Years Eve though. Thanks to Tricky for the birthday card, naughty boy.

  6. FANTASTIC run today guys! One of the best Scottish Westie runs I've been on - and only around 300 miles! For those of you who need to know - human sh*t washes off far easier than cow sh*t........ Hope everyone had a good run home. Matt

  7. Well what a day... We were 4, then 3, sorry about your back.... You can't have fun in agony! Then Buttercup throws a wobbly in Whitby.... Just left us 2 to charge up and down the chimney twice.... Just had some great fish n chips and now enjoying a very cold beer before a shower and a coma, you lucky people up here have some spectacular roads and breathtaking scenery, just leaves me to say thanks for hosting the Bromsgrove ASBO and me & Mrs D. Take care all.... Cheers, Nem... & The Sage

  8. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Since 1998 I've never had a problem. So yesterday morning I noticed one of the grommets missing from my nose cone, y'know the ones that the bonnet pins locate into. I tried a couple of likely local suppliers, but no luck. So at ten past one on Friday afternoon I phoned Westfield, a young man answered the phone who's voice I didn't recognise, not surprising, cos' I haven't had the need to call for quite a while, and there have been some changes, so he checked stock levels, yes they had them in stock and he would get them in the post, phone call ended at 20 past one. Great This morning at 11 am the postman called and yes he had my grommets, too late for me cos' I was already on my way to Oulton Park But again great service from Westfield (for me). Thanks and well done Parts dept

  11. Hi Marcus. Not sure about the car as yet as when she cooled down she started instantly. She is booked in with the garage on Tuesday so will know more next week. Really happy you enjoyed the route and I have a few more yet. I tried to take you all on roads that were, pretty, twisty and steep .....and good for posing and to provide some interest.

  12. Great day out Guys and Girls, thanks for organizing it Buttercup and hope you get your poorly westy fixed asap was it a fuel problem or electrics? The days out that run smoothly you could soon forget, but the days out where you get soaked, endure squeeeky brakes and break down for unknown reasons are the days you will remember and cherish forever , never been on a run before when someone retired with a bad back though ! #Shaggydoogetwellsoon ! Enjoyed your route Buttercup with some new ones for me including the Rosedale Chimney, very steep Also thanks from Dax to Mrs Nem for the icecream

  14. Granted, but i'd be more inclined to trust a car owned by someone who'd taken the time to get to know it at least. But it's all speculation, it could purely be a poorly presented classified ad.
