  4. Problems here too! Popped a driveshaft on the A1, rescued by Tricky and limped the car to the Fox and Grapes car park while we went to get the trailer. All home safely now and if possible I'll have it fixed for next weekend.

  5. After Liz's fantastic picnic it was suprise time. As they will be missing for Glen's rather large birthday in 2 weeks time, we had birthday cake for after's. It came with a full on singing session and hip hip hooray's. Thank you very much and for the present too. A fun day out, Ricky managed to miss me spraying my car when I opened a can of pop on it, . That's only because he was busy doing an impression of a match with his bright red woolly hat on . Thanks to the 2 Richard's for organising it, combined with yesterday's meet it has been nice to catch up with all the Yorkshire Terrier's. The traffic light gang in formation. Here are some pics of the other cars on display. Matt in with the Elises

  6. We met at Sainsbury's in Harrogate with 2 casualties, firstly we had totally lost Matt who never got to Ricky's house because somebody sent the postcode of his old address, not mentioning any names here Ricky. Don't mention the postcode, much. Secondly the MK would not start so he would meet us later. That just left Mr and Mrs Bioman, Ron and Neil, Rickyboy and Brooke in their Westfields, the porsche lads and Vicky 1, Vicky 2 and Freya in the support vehicle. We parked up. Then we found Matt. I found 2 boys looking very relaxed. I think they were hiding. And 2 more who were NOT very relaxed. The MK Indy had turned up but then had a brake pipe problem.

  8. I think there are many in parliament who are good and decent people, however the ideology of how to deliver what they see as being necessary is what stops them being seen as good. Tories see it as create a strong economy and jobs will follow and the need for welfare is reduced. Labour see tax the rich (who like in France will leave) tax business, tax the middle class more ( because we are getting to near to the Tories) and give it to those who are poor. My Dad a life long labour supported and ex union official, will always vote that way, but even he says the welfare state was designed to pull people out of real poverty not what it has become. People wanted to work and even those with limbs missing did so where they could. Many worked in the mines doing jobs they could, not being supported by the state. When he see's the way it has developed it makes him almost cry at what the greatest achievement Labour created has become. He wants it changing but does not know how it can as it has gone too far. Where has the maxim gone where you always wanted your kids to do better than you did? Where did self reliance and hard work go? For many it went when they found they could live on benefits, probably not as well as those who work, but sometimes they seem to do that. When I did not go down the pit that was a huge success for my family, when my daughter became a Doctor it was rejoiced. All of us have paid lots of tax, willingly for the right reason, but for too many, Labour was associated with wanting to give money away, to bash business which creates jobs (and yes some do take the p....) but they ignored the concerns of many, refusing a referendum, allowing immigration to get out of control with the Balken states, that is why they lost heavily.

  9. Can't have luxuries unless you have disposable income. Labour spent all the disposable income last time they were in power (and admitted it). So why people think austerity is down to the Tories is beyond me.

  10. Thermal Insulation Engineer and sheet metal worker. Hairy-arsed lagger to you and I. I work everywhere from all those boring nuclear and coal-fired power stations, oil refineries and chemical works to food factories and car production plants. I hate it but the money is so good I've been almost stuck. Currently studying a BSc in Forensic Psychology.

  18. Changed the seats for the expensive sport turbo option not as harsh on the buttocks as the old GRP seats and fitted: The last major job is the engine replacement, here is the new Zetec in bits: Zetec partial build: V8 out Ive had to remove seats, windscreen and bonnet, then turn car upside down to fit engine block and connect it to drive shaft, engine position same as the old V8 so no changes required to gearbox ...exhaust still needs a bit of tweaking though..
