  1. Bertie's week with me----- Very tired after his Essex Sunday Blat last week so I gave him a double bed to sleep to have a long good sleep Easter was very special to him so the family gave him a treet or two, even got his own egg Most of the week all he wanted to do was watch 'Dave' on TV so I left him to it Videos of his track day are a bit more time consuming, I'll sort that own soon.

  11. Thank you all very much - sound advice all round. I will no doubt post lots more queries in the coming weeks and months. I'm going to try to head to Stoneleigh next month but will definitely get to the factory for a good look round and a run through specs etc. and hopefully a test drive.

  12. Enjoy Car worked perfectly during the day. No fuel starvation this time. I will post my solution to that in my original thread. The observant will notice that I overtightened the windscreen grubscrew after test fitting an aeroscreen. It rained on the drive up to the track day, so I've yet to fully test the aeroscreen on the track.

  19. A note about the velcro straps, you can buy that stuff on a roll, and cut it to whatever length you require 3rd option, press studs - one in the free end of the strap, the other in the date label. 4th option - sewed on velcro, used at Oulton Park in their single seater experience cars. Agreed with the comments about lines, looked good to me, nice and smooth too More bum in seat time and you'll be flying!

  20. Excellent lines, young man; just what I showed you when we walked the course!!! Agree with John. Two possibilities, I use cable ties sold by computer peripheral companies, they are double sided coloured velcro strips. The only problem with them is that with 3" harness straps the length is marginal, they only just wrap round. If you want to try them, you just roll the surplus harness around the velcro strip, and when you have tidied most of the surplus strap you just double the velcro strip round the outside of the roll, to join with the other end. Have a look at mine when we next meet. The alternative is to use the same technique, but using plastic cable ties instead of the velcro strips. It doesn't look quite so "pretty" but overcomes the length problem, IYSWIM!

  21. Nice lines but just an observation that might help you is to tuck your harness strap ends in as they seem to be flapping all over the place and must be a distraction

  24. Just got back, what a FANTASTIC day! It was really great to meet you all and put faces to names, thanks for being so friendly and especially Terry and Stephen H for their help with the circuit and lines. Shame about the rain but we got four good runs in the dry in the morning, I'm sure there would have been more pace to come from everyone had the skies stayed clear but nevertheless, it was a great day of sprinting and I am definitely hooked! Roll on Gurston (dry please mr weatherman )

  26. Hi Julian, thanks for the comment and for also featuring our car / carbon fibre exhaust on your web site... Yes the cvh is much maligned, easy to tune, strong and responsive ... Our car also has the rare cross-hatch casting head, it has a ribbed cross-hatch pattern on the external sides and thicker port walls with a better port shape. This is the only the casting that can be used for 45mm valves.... Hence how we have managed 145 bhp... More photos available ....

  27. I guess the Cornwall area is probably your nearest - it's a little more of an ad-hoc area because of the amount of ground covered, but the Area Organiser is Darrell O'Neil, Details of the Areas are here You'll be made most welcome at any and all the meets - we always say, don't feel like you have to stick to just one, though I appreciate in your neck of the woods, it's a bit harder to "meet the neighbours"! Don't forget, you can always pop a post up on the Boardroom if you're going out for a run - you might just catch the eye of any members not too far away!

  29. Swimming goggles? They're proper aviation spec. they are, to keep the flies out of his eyes. Had his first drive round the M25 Sunday afternoon, think the big trucks scared him a bit, but he's getting used to Westfield life.

  30. There will. We have Mark's excellent paper/card Westfields for sale again this year and I hope Marcus can bring his Lego version too. We can display these on the table selling the card/Westfields as there will be plenty of Members around to keep an eye on things.
