  1. I still want it.. And I don't care what you say after seeing a lambo v12 in a fiat 500 then this will fit in a Wessie. Might not be any bodywork at the front but you can't have everthing.

  2. Tel's Tales 044– 2015 Season- Croft 6th April 2015 Our prayer's (well hopes really) were answered as the day was dry and very felt hot at about 18deg C and I used 3 lots of suncream on my delicate facial features and still got a bit sunburned. There were 11 Speed Series competitors plus Nick Algar out in his new DJ Firehawk which very annoyingly had issues with the static and trackside noise levels so did not run competitively. We all had 2 Practice runs and hoped for the 3 timed runs as suggested in the finals but it never happened and we sadly only got 2 timed runs. In my opinion the meeting did not run very slickly and we had problems with the timing, timing battery, several offs, suspected oil on the track and the British sprint guys who are never known to hurry! There was also no clock after the finish so checking times was almost impossible. Three cars only just made it as they were in various stages of rebuild.....Nick Algar's car with a different set of gear ratios, the Playskool car with a full strip down and rebuild and finally Tim Nunn's 27 year old blade car that he had stripped, had powder coated, new Playskool coloured bodywork ( a bit like mine really!) and it looked mint! Following an early start for some it was a rude awakening to get in the car for P1 and remember just how fast this track really is with average lap speeds of 80-85 mph hitting 120mph plus down the straights. In P1 not a lot happened but Steve Wilson had a frustrating misfire on the crossflow causing him to lose speed and scratch his head to find the cause which could have been plugs but he did not have a spare set. John Hoyle was really pushing hard and had some scary moments as he applied the power too harshly. Steve Everall was trying hard too keep with him and his car sounded strong and he had some good starts. Jason Brown was pedalling well in Class A and in Class F Luke Algar was showing Richard Kerr a clean pair of heels in the supercharged duratec. The big battle was in Class G between Tim (nutter) Nunn, Mark Anson and myself all driving powerful blade cars. Tim showed us the way all day and was chasing my record from last year. Simon Rossinelli was all alone in Class B but was enjoying himself and seeing how close he could get to Class D. P2 saw almost everyone improving their times as they got to grips with Tower bend, the fast Jim Clark Esses and Barcroft where some say you can hold it flat through them but in reality self preservation kick in and they have a little lift! In the timed runs most people's last run was their best and we had: Class A: Jason Brown winning from Steve Wilson with 92.51 secs Class B: Simon Rossinelli with a very very respectable 89.43secs Class D: John Hoyle set a new record with a blistering 80.95secs from Steve Everall on 89.99secs which was a PB for him Class F: The win went to Luke Algar with 82.88 secs with Richard Kerr on 85.14secs Class G : Tim Nunn was very pleased to break the class record with 81.37secs on T1 with me on on 82.19secs and Mark on 84.37 secs. Tim did have clutch failure on T2 and Mark was getting front nearside lockup on braking. So another event where excuses counted for nothing and a few gauntlets were laid down for the rest of the season and I hope to see you at events later in the year. My next outing is 3 Sisters and guess who I will meet there........GAME ON !!!!!!! Terry Everall Speed Series Correspondent Class G competitor

  7. Seems very good value to be honest! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131457931225?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Makes me wonder how it ended up there for sale, maybe a seriously rear ended FF that got broken for parts...

  8. My first post! I have just purchased my first Westfield, a pre-lit 1600 crossflow, which is being stored until I take possession of a garage at the end of April. Looking forward to attending the Essex area meets at The Lodge, may even pop along April 12.

  9. Hello All. I have just up-loaded this video to YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJ8Qth6SXQQ&feature=youtu.be It is the first time I have had a go at this sort of stuff so any advice / comments welcome. I compressed the movie in Windows movie maker but should it look "sharper". Any advice good or bad is welcome but in laymans terms please if you would.

  11. just hit the 'quote' button. You can edit the original quote as well in the reply... Remember, when justifying, all upgrades are to keep you 'safer'

  16. There's a term like "thermal surface failure" normally known as bad graining which is a rippling or ridging effect. If its bad enough to need removing, a light surforming should do the trick. Works for pick up too.

  18. Swimming goggles? They're proper aviation spec. they are, to keep the flies out of his eyes. Had his first drive round the M25 Sunday afternoon, think the big trucks scared him a bit, but he's getting used to Westfield life.

  20. At last, some pictures of a Westfield in Scotland. I go into the English and Welsh mountains with my car, I post the pictures and say how lovely it all looks but Scotland is in a different league. It is nice to see some proper big mountains as a backdrop. Thanks for posting, Julie

  21. Hi Guys Of course I will be going to this and maybe we can use the parking area at the Gym at New Mill or maybe the Flouch Inn to meet up so we can go in in convoy as we did last year. I think Martin and one or two others from the Yorkshire area may want to come as well. Barry

  22. Been out for three hours with nowt but a t-shirt on and a (erm try not to use a potty word...) very big grin on my face. 45 miles round the Cotswolds and the sun never stopped shining. Happiness is a hot and oily Xflow... Of to (walking) the H&H for a few pints of Doombar, my day will then be utterly complete...

  23. Great photos - it's a fantastic road to drive in the Westie. That's the route we take on the way to Applecross in June. Can't wait! Matt

  24. On the 9th May it is also the Horsepower at the Hall in Lincoln. We will be meeting at MacDonalds, Junction 30 M1 at 8am, going to the Lincoln event 9am-12. Then we will get some lunch before setting off back past MacDonalds, through Chesterfield, heading north through the Peak District, stopping for teas and wees aiming to land at the BBQ for 4pm. There are several petrol stops in there too. Anyone can join us on any part of this double event, just let me know where and when to pick you up. Hope this is OK Rickyboy, trying not to hijack your event too much here.

  26. As per request from OnliestSmeg, I have now updated the Drivers list with the Forum names in the hope you will be able to associate to the drivers a bit easier. If anybody wants their forum names removed, I can of course do this but I've not had any complaints as yet Updated Drivers List I hope this helps ? Tiggs
