  1. I have a little Satnav, it sits there in my car A Satnav is a driver’s friend, it tells you where you are. I have a little Satnav, I’ve had it all my life It’s better than the normal ones, my Satnav is my wife. It gives me full instructions, especially how to drive “It’s sixty miles an hour”, it says, “You’re doing sixty five”. It tells me when to stop and start, and when to use the brake And tells me that it’s never ever, safe to overtake. It tells me when a light is red, and when it goes to green It seems to know instinctively, just when to intervene. It lists the vehicles just in front, and all those to the rear And taking this into account, it specifies my gear. I’m sure no other driver, has so helpful a device For when we leave and lock the car, it still gives its advice. It fills me up with counselling, each journey’s pretty fraught So why don’t I exchange it, and get a quieter sort? Ah well, you see, it cleans the house, makes sure I’m properly fed It washes all my shirts and things, and keeps me warm in bed! Despite all these advantages and my tendency to scoff, I only wish that now and then, I could turn the b******* off.

  2. Everyone, The North Oxfordshire Area are intending to do an Endurance Karting Race on 23rd May 2015, at Daytona Milton Keynes. The track is good and nearly 1 mile long. The karts are 390cc, and capable of speeds up to 60-70mph on the back straight. Information on the venue here https://www.daytona.co.uk/venues/miltonkeynes/index.php We would turn this into a really good event if we can gain enough support and enthusiasm from the membership. I have been in contact with Daytona MK, and they have definitely confirmed there is an event running on this date. Here is their reply to my email:- Thank you for getting in touch, On the 23rd May we have scheduled a brilliant endurance race called the D90 Open Race that I feel would be of interest to you. D90 Team Open (2 – 4 drivers per team) Each team driver would enjoy a practice in which they would get to grips with both the kart and the circuit and attempt to post their fastest lap to clinch Pole Position for their team. One driver from each team would then grid up and at the green light would go head to head for their stint in a full throttle endurance race. Communication and teamwork are key, as each team must return to the pits and swap drivers midrace, just like Le Mans! The race may be won or lost in this critical hand over and the team that works best as a unit will have a great advantage. Trophies would await the drivers of the 3 teams at a podium presentation with photos, and lap time printouts for all participants. 20 minute practice qualifier 90 minute Race £150 per team £135 per team, if you book online I hope this helps, if you should need any further assistance please get in touch. So come on guys, lets get a list running of people that want to play! It would be good if we could get teams from areas to add a bit of spice, but this is not essential. If you are an individual wanting to join in and cant raise a team, add your name to the list and we will make sure you get in with a team. So I will start the list off in the next post Footnote - Normal disclaimers apply etc

  3. It is with great regret, a weepy eye and a lumpy throat, I bring you the news that the Speed Series Team JockYamBamLambYorkshireMan has been disbanded following a scandal involving 2 members, a goat and a giraffe called Lofty. I cannot comment further at this stage, other than to say 'a member' is missing the goat and they've promised to stay in touch as "friends" With this in mind we've rebranded and will be known as 'Team Playskool' Team to include myself (Richie Kerr), Tim Nunn, and Luke Algar. Richard James if he finds his car and a mascot (Garry the goat) who will maintain a low profile for the foreseeable.... Other names were considered but suggestions such as Kerr's Assorted Cruisers (KAC) Tim's Allstar Trio (TAT) and Garry's Unsung Friends (GUF) were eliminated as they were deemed 'unsuitable' We look forward to 'Whooping' you all soon, Kindest Regards Team Playskool (number one for banter)

  4. Yep, for all the "car like" bodywork/build quality, and nicely upholstered, decently equipped cabins, there's a proper ladder frame chassis underneath, proper 4x4 axles, proper size diffs - non of this itsy bitsy diffs that weren't designed to take the torque of serious off road stuff, and a proper transfer box. Yet mine still felt light at the controls, and without the excessively van-like or agricultural feel of the alternative, proper 4x4's. Good luck with the sale!

  5. Just the little bits as folk have said, stickers, wings and carpets. Nothing nasty, nice Sunday afternoon jobs to make it look a million dollars. And yes remove the adverts if you haven't paid for them. Then when you readvertuse it will be different people looking and look different even if they were. Sorry if you thought I was being harsh or anything?!

  7. Factor in a lot of people being skint in January to the weather and that'll be why its sitting around. Put it this way...im trying to sell a 4x4 and even its not selling. (which is actually quite fortunate currently seeing as I managed to crash its replacement!)
