  3. Our 23rd Anniverary Supper will be held at the Fox and Grapes on Tuesday 3rd February starting at 6:30pm and you and your partners, friends and family (including children) are all invited. I want to make this a full-on, proper, social occasion. Please put this event into your dairies now, make sure your partners, friend and families have it in their diaries too and let me know by PM how many of you will be attending and what they'd like to eat.

  8. We celebrate Burns night each year (although I'm a Geordie not a Scotsman) on the Saturday nearest Jan 25th. Most people like Spag-Bol, some people like haggis..... A few months back, we stumbled upon this Haggis dish that's so easy to make and is superb, well superb if you're a haggis-lover. Put some spaghetti on to boil (? 10 minutes) with a good pinch of salt and a little Olive oil (to stop it clumping). Quick fry (3-4 minutes) a pack of Cherry tomatoes (each one sliced in half) in decent Olive Oil. Pop you haggis in the micro-wave for 4 minutes or so and cook through. Rinse off the spaghetti with boiling water, empty into a pasta dish, add the tomatoes and the haggis, mix well and serve................... There you have it: HAGHETTI Robbie Burns might spin in his grave but you heard it here first and don't knock it until you've tried it.......

  12. Sweeeeet! I had a similar looking one in my last car, when I first built it. Made the, what in my case, turned out to be a mistake, of fitting it directly to the cam cover breather. Unfortunately, that seemed to just cause any fine oil mist to condense out inside the filter and slowly drip through after a few months of use, onto the inlet manifold. I ended up fitting a catch tank, and using the filter on one of the connections. The daft thing was, in all the time I had the car, the catch tank never got more than a teas spoon or two of oil in it, so I'm guessing all the oil that lodged in the filter prior to that, would normally never have made it that far out of the cam cover.

  13. Drives me mad - so often see people trying to use their window wipers to clear snow. What's wrong with giving your car a bit of a sweep over with a soft bristled brush??

  14. James you are right new tyres are a fundamental part of going fast. But, unlike you, we don't all have Henry Weston sponsoring us. Also, as all Yorkshiremen know, not taking the opportunity for tyre warming, reducing the tyre spin of the start and keeping sensible control of the right foot during the runs will prolong the life of your tyres and then may last for at least a couple of years. Both you and I have the immense power of the mighty crossflow to contend with and excessive tyre wear is just the norm for us
