  1. HUGE thanks to Martin (marto303 aka The Rainmaster ) and Ro for all their effort, patience and great work to make this happen Here's the second start up, just shows the benefit of buying a complete engine set up on here (also helps when it's from the man, the legend Dave Eastwood!):

  4. Translates to 'Few, glad I didn't sell a duffer!!' Always better than 'I've fitted a second hand engine and it has a slight knocking noise'!! Only joking Dave, but know there is always a feeling of responsibility attached to any sale.

  6. A good day Barny, I'm so pleased it's all worked out well for you I agree with you on the benefits of buying a proven engine package from a reliable source, as this has been a relatively straight forward installation. Though you've had to stretch your budget to get this far, to upgrade from a broken crossflow to a 235hp fully forged XE would have cost you treble or more if you'd have started from scratch and you now have a very competitive car So a little bit of tidying in the engine bay, body work back on and the Red Beast is ready to roll The 2015 Speed Series Novice Championship is hotting up, I'm so looking forward to having you in class b with us, not sure what the outcome will be / but it's going to be fun finding out

  11. I got the definite feeling you fall into quite a different category insurance wise when you exceed a certain level. As part of the planning and during the build of mine, I spoke to A Plan a number of times. Although the cost was fine, due to an unusual combination of issues too long and boring to detail here, talking with A Plan, we realised the only companies that would cover my Mega S2000, all demanded a minimum of a CAT2 immobiliser. (that's after them initially demanding a CAT1 alarm - till A Plan explained to them how silly that was on a Westfield!) Still, by finding out early, at least it meant the immobiliser could be built in from the start.

  12. When I ordered mine I had Westfield powdercoat and fix the panels (with black rivets). They also fixed the brake and fuel lines. Both jobs are tedious and IMO a bit of an - much better to start with the chassis up on stands and ready for the suspension!

  14. If I may add my thoughts on engines as an inexperienced newbie too... I debated bike or car, and concluded that the bike is too extreme for my level of experience, and that car engine gives me more than enough performance and thrill (but I am a road user, not track). I had intended to use my car for summer Sundays and track day treats. Until I actually bought it! Now, I want to use it everyday, so am glad I got the more 'practical' car engine.

  15. Selling my old OZ Racing 14" black alloys on ebay - 321358720508 They're in really good nick and will do anyone great if you don't mind 14" rims. Be happy to do a deal for club members Cheers Matt
