  1. It's not too bad on track - short stints gives the fingers time to recover! Here's the vid:

  2. Sunday 21st December 2014 10.30am at The Strines Inn for the first ever official Peak District monthly meet. It is 4 days before Christmas Day so not the best time to start. The monthly meet will be a discussion about events for 2015 then if anyone in their Westfields would like to, we can have another go at a run to Ca**ington Water.

  3. I've got 5 x 5 ft or 6ft fluorescents over the Westie - rigged up on two circuits (1 lamp + 4 lamps) and evenly spaced. I'd say it's about right in terms of output. I went for the IP rated ("non-corrosive") ones as that way you get diffusers and a bit of knock resistance. If you go for HF ballasts then you don't have as many issues with starter failure and (importantly) they're safer if you're using rotating tools. I did think about LED downlighters but, for the length of time spent with them running, there would never be payback.

  6. I didn't didn't build mine but I've rebuilt / overhauled so many parts of it now it feels "mine" and I know what makes it tick Given the chance, I'd build a new one - and it'd definitely be an S2000 (but then I'm waiting to see what the new GTM's going to be like)

  9. I know from what the factory guys have said at events, they're unwilling to get into internet debates - there's never a winner there, so I suppose I can understand, to some degree. However, they've been very willing to speak openly and freely in person, and accept the brickbats that inevitably headed their way, as well as explaining what they doing to improve things and fix exiting issues. Julian, both on his own and with various combinations of staff has attended a number of WSCC events over the last year where shall we say club members could have a full and frank exchange of views! The factory has also held it's own events, where again there's been plenty of open and free talk. I know it's difficult for those club members a bit further afield(!) to get to events like these, but I would recommend AO's to seriously consider getting the factory guys to come over for an Area Meet and a chance to both get feelings across AND to hear about the things the factory is planning and exciting possibilities for the future. (Might be worth the more distant Areas perhaps getting a few different areas together for a joint meet with the factory?)

  10. I've said this before and I'll say it again... There is no such thing as a stupid question - just a stupid answer!

  11. Hi Glyn, looking forward to following your build as we all love a good build project! As Chris aka kingster996 says, just start a thread on Tech Talk. There's a few ways to add pics and I'm sure there's a guide on the forum to explain how to. Good luck!

  12. I've been using Vredestein Wintrac Extreme on the last 3 of my cars and they are amazing. First put them on my Mondeo Zetec S with low profile 18" (can't remember tyre size) basically I would have had more traction with the rims! Fitted these and holy smoke......was driving through snow 6" deep and never once go stuck. Since then I have put them on every winter. Current car is a 2.2 TDCI Titanium X Sport estate with bluefin 220 BHP and nearly 500 ft torque. Any good performance tyre is basically useless once temp drops below 7 Deg C

  13. Don't let it put you off, the parts dept sent all my missing bits up and nothing spoiled (for me anyway). As per finkangel, the build is, for me, all part of the fun, I'm loving it.Build thread is easy, just go to "tech talk" and start a new post called something like "Glyn's s2000 Build Thread" - sorted!

  14. Unfortunatly the parts thing does happen. Try not to let it spoil things, don't rush anything and don't skip anything due to parts missing. I once left the propshaft out til last and it was a pig to fit with the gearbox in place. Apart from that, What Kingster996 says is true. you will feel more stupid not asking a simple question and getting it wrong than putting up your hand and saying "please Sir, where does this bit go". As daft as it sounds I enjoy the build as much as driving them.(but thats just me)
