  1. SOLD ***Update - I'm willing to sell this package minus the exhaust and management systems as I appreciate this may not suit your application. Will accept 6k for package minus these parts. Call me or PM to discuss possible options. Package listed on ebay and race cars direct with pics*** Now that the Super Charged Duratec has been successfully installed it's time to start thinking about letting my Highly Developed Red Top go This very well known engine has been developed over the last few seasons where it has been sprinted very successfully in the Westfield Speed Series, claiming many class wins and an Overall Championship. Maintained to a high standard with new oil on a very regular basis and a new Cambelt for the start of every season. I've just replaced the cam belt and water pump and fitted a Cometic Steel head gasket. ARP bolts replaced with new. It produced a very respectable 257hp when last on Rick Wood’s dyno with 189 lb ft of torque, printouts available to verify. Professionally rebuilt in 2008 but I’d estimate it’s covered less than 300 miles since then. Rebuild from scratch included crack testing of crank and rods. In seven or eight seasons of sprinting it has proven to be exceptionally reliable. This is a very strong reliable package ready for a new project, whether it be in a Westfield, other kit car or perhaps a rally or saloon car. It’s equally happy on the road at 40mph as it is on track at 8500rpm at 135mph! Included for sale as a complete package 2.0 16V Vauxhall Redtop producing circa 257bhp Oversize Omega High Compression Pistons (2100cc) 87.5 mm bore Dip Stick hole and oil Fill Blanked as dry sumped. Engine was very strong before removal, available for sale now. Offers or questions by PM or email please, if you know the spec and costs, time and development involved to achieve this power and torque you’ll appreciate the costs involved in putting this together. Tr6

Hi Barry, Welcome to TR ownership. I have owned my TR5 for 11 years and love every moment of driving it. I am a member of the TR Register but don't do any of the local events/meets (not my type of people). Enjoy your TR6 and post a picture when you get the chance.

  4. It was a while ago now but IIRC I locked the rears and decided to take the safe route rather than go off the track side ways....

  5. Hi Matt, no doubt I'm pretty local to you, as I'm based in Newport too ! Lots of info on here regarding engines etc etc from crossflow to bike engined cars ( sorry, the 'mighty crossflow' ; )

  6. Yeh, stick with old stuff. iPhones are over rated and overpriced. One thing I have noticed over the last couple of years is Vodafone have been reducing the power and number of cell sites around here. EE are the to be brand leader soon when it comes to coverage.

  8. You really need a proper MSA/RAC roll over bar for safety

  9. Following the issue of the last MSA bulletin there was lots of discussion around the paddock about whether it applied to Sprints and Hillclimbs John Loudon is to be thanked for contacting the MSA for clarification and they have stated that there is no change to the current requirements and that Fire extinguishers are recommended but not compulsory in 2015.
