  4. yes axle stays in place , really easy job wuv , get a escort manual or look on the interweb at escort halfshaft swap ,you tube is your freind , a couple of bolts and yank em out halshafts bearings seals oil ,drop it and refill

  5. It does look like an extra sleeve welded on the original Ford hub, you can see the welding line. Original hubs are one piece and machined to shape. I guess a previous owner wanted to use a certain type of wheel. I would go and find another original pair of hubs and changed them over, must be a fellow member with a couple going cheap.

  6. Maybe a bit of naughtiness? Trying to use the pit equipment to give a bit of extra charge to the system? I don't follow F1 at all, so I have no idea how it works these days.
