  1. Yes she's a big girl with fat a$$. To race against sprint class Westfields and not other electric cars is a great way to cut through the electric car BS and helps me to develop the car and its systems. Thanks for the positive comments.

  2. When I purchased my milling machine for £1100 I created a fake eBay listing on a second account and asked a question offering a buy it now of £500 which I of course agreed to then showed the mrs the email. Then ended the listing. Me bad

  4. Hi all I thought it was about time I got my new owner information on the club website. So here we go: My car is a factory built [2005] 1600i with the all aluminium sigma engine, piper cams and Web Con alpha injection kit. Over the years she’s had a few owners and upgrades – carbon effect cycle wings, rear stone guards, rear light surrounds and exhaust. I’m really pleased with her and now just looking forward to more dry days to get out and about. Gary House Leominster Herefordshire

  6. Results have been posted up for Curborough already thanks to the speedy Filfan (well fast with the results anyway) :D Please note, this was a new layout (figure 8) so the 1.6e rule applies. Link to results for Curby Tiggs

  9. All tyres are reasonable in the wet but it depends how you drive with them. 888's in my opinion are not great when its damp and quickly lose the dry grip level so take care. If its really wet with spray off the cars then just keep it smooth and what for standing water cos the 888 does not shift much water. In the dry they are very good. Your old tyres may not be any better if they are old and hard

  10. Better to face a little pain earlier telling it as it is (almost), than worry about receipt then receive lots of pain when found out.

  13. Only lie to her about tool / car expenditure to the extent that she does about shoes / handbags / makeup / her hobbies. If she simply keeps quiet about such expenditure (and you, sensibly, never ask) then treat that as the way that things should be with the car...

  14. Here are links to my videos, My first timed run just before the rain, a steady 65.79secs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAI9P90miGQ My second timed run which I totally messed up around the mole hill . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BF4tlMZvi3I I was surprised to have been fastest in class D, looks like we all had issues with our final runs, I was lucky to have had a dry first run. Could have all done with more than 1 practice though especially as I was on 3 cylinders for mine!

  15. Firstly after lots of soul searching sold the new crated Zetec, as after driving the Levante , realised that I won't get what I'm really looking for. Decided the crossflow will live on , with the help of Barny and his dry sump bits and Geoff Page Racing. I can do silly fast on a motorbike ! And after my last two blats ended in torrential rain decided to go out today in the pouring rain for fun ! What a laugh.....really empty roads and luckily little standing water......Official.. R888s do work in the rain...well.. Took my nephew who just got a new Aygo (super car).... He had the time of his life... A really great weekend ! Who needs a screen and roof ?

  16. What you are all forgetting is that the real purpose of modern day F1 is entertainment , it uses "racing" as a front for commercial gain , it is purely show business , drivers are briefed to say what they are told to say , which can be anything but the truth . there is very little "real" racing , The modern aids to overtaking DRS Kers Aero etc are completely misleading and prove nothing about how good or bad a driver is . All designed to please the crowd and attract sponsers , all a bit phoney IMO Cant help thinking its gone the same way as the BTCC did years ago only on a much bigger scale , hopefully someday soon everyone will get bored with all the politics and b***hing , the sponsers will go away and F1 will return to the amature sport it once used to be (well I can dream cant I )

  18. You our might be the first, (or amongst them at least), but you sure won't be the last. We have a few electric car owning petrol heads in the Cheshire area now; it's quite obvious seeing them talking about the performance etc that we've definitely turned a corner now. (Sure, there lots still to do, as well). Bt it's fantastic seeing pioneering cars and drivers like you. I admit to actually being really interested now in where we'll be, Motorsport wise, a few more generations (sorry) down the line!

  19. It's a great car to see in the paddock and I think it adds a great dimension to our sport, it's awesome watching your car silently fly up the straight, with the only noises being the screeching of tyres! Sorry I didn't get any pictures of you, I'll be more attentive next time.

  20. British TV companies pay £ millions to show F1 and if a Brit is not winning huge numbers ( myself included) stop watching and wait to see the highlights on the news. Yesterdays stupidity is great news for TV income but as Tricky said he should have a ban imposed or we are just encouraging stupid and dangerous behaviour, footballer just push and bite each other, stupid outbursts in motor sport can kill and appropriate punishment should apply.

  22. My fasted run on Fig8 double lap, 67.49secs. And quicker than Curborough standard double lap in July on a faster circuit! A few lines a bit out, but 2nd fastest for WSCC Speed Series class A. Very chuffed with drive as only second dry run on the Fig 8 circuit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpN2HZ2sP94
