Crossed paths with Simons V8 on the way home through Aylesbury - It's a flame spitting monster I can confirm ! I tried hard to keep up with him on the Wendover bypass but he disappeared into the distance with flames pouring out of both sides - loved it !1 point

Hi, Im afraid my build thread stalled a few months ago! I have the car on the floor and am about to put the engine in next week! I keep meaning to update it but Im afraid it would take me hours to get it up to speed! The build manual for the MX5 SDV is online and is a good read coupled with with the latest FW manual or the older SDV manual.1 point

Dont forget you can sell a lot of the donor vehicle - hood, seats, wings etc. Smoket mow used the donor wheel, if you are prepared to compromise then lots of things are possible. But yoy really have to watch the smaller items or not count them - doing an engine conversion i spent £100 on non fancy rubber coolant hoses! Good luck.1 point

I like it. Stuggled to find anything like that , let alone to go in the narrowbody, so have ended up with grp and 5mm of neroprene foam. Works, but is more 'functional' style shall we say!1 point

Never any problems for me without a heater, even when it's almost at freezing point, but I am a bit of a polar bear and my road drives tend to be 'enthusiastic' rather than a long range cruise.1 point
