Well I've managed to tear myself away from the Christmas food and drink long enough for a quick update... Quick release arrived from Playskool - I'm really impressed with how solid it is, now fitted. Wheel is totally finished and working perfectly (in my study, anyway ) Took a lot of fiddly soldering and heatshrink, but pleased with the results - here's the messy side: The transmitter fits snugly inside the black box, velcro'd to the wheel - so easy to change the battery when the indicators pack up... Buttons are indicators (will be self cancelling), main beam (will flash once if headlights are off, or latch on if headlights are on), trigger for GPS lap timer on ETB DigiDash2. Now I just have to build the vehicle-side control module - hopefully ready before summer Enjoy the mince pies everyone!

I have some of these that just need welding on. Going to chop them in 2 to give me 4 bushes roughly the same thickness as the chassis rail eBay 380466351512

Well my new job does not start until 21st January 2013. My previous employers lease company picked up my company car this morning, so I was tintopless for a few hours. I rang my new employer to wish them happy new year and touch base etc. During conversation they told me the car is on order and due shortly, if it arrives before I start I can have it I then dropped into the conversation that my car had gone back today. No problem he says, you can borrow the truck until your car arrives. So I now have a Mitsubishi L200 Warrior 5 seat pick up jobby sat on the drive to tide me over Very obliging considering I dont even work for them yet

What made me go for my gun was a 'voice' on Radio 4 at lunchtime that said that "rich pensioners should get no state pension". She, for it was female, said that among other "state benefits" the pension should be reduced with increasing wealth. I have news for her: the state pension is NOT A bl**** BENEFIT!

I think the point is the bloke in the video had got to a point where his vehicle had near given up - he was probably thinking to himself this guy is going to kill me hence the reason for my comment about taking a run up

Well done Terry - it would be great to re-surrect the SS event write ups and commentaries with a few good quips along the way - they were such an important feature way back in 1998 through to more recent times, providing everyone with info and a few laughs.
