  1. has to be said I would be really disappointed to see the mag go only digital a magazine gets picked up and read from time to time and kept for future use - it can also be taken to club meets to be shown to new potential members (quite a few in our local patch that are not paid up members - I think if they were able to see the mag and see the AO's write ups that hopefully include a mention of them or even a piccy of their car it would encourage them to splash out on a good mag I shall be taking the next mag with my write up and encouraging active non members to join

  3. Personally, Id go with the tyre repair kits (bike style) rather than foam. BMW, (I think) do some really good ones that come with little compressed air cylinders to re-inflate the tyre. I know Blatters has recommended one of the kits a number of times - he's tested them in anger too! I think this might be the one.. Obviously, similar to the previously shown kit, but with a bit of added German efficiency

  5. I think the problem with electric car heaters is that they just can't supply the same amount of heat that a conventional one plumbed in to the engine cooling circuit can. They are hundreds of watts, rather than thousands. To supply the same sort of power electrically would overload the alternator. Think of a one bar domestic electric fire, 1KW. That would be 71 amps at 14V. Too much for most alternators, especially since they have to run the engine electrics, lights, screen demist, etc etc at the same time. The amount of waste heat from the engine is many KW. The issue with that is more getting rid of it, as the many cooling problem posts on this forum show! Diverting some of it to heat the car interior is simple. Jenny (Corrected amps for watts. Doh!)
