  1. Simples! It has been said many times before; The mag is only ever going to be as good as the people who take the trouble to contribute towards filling it - which ain't many of you this time round! (hence the mag is a bit on the thin side) Also - I undertook an extensive Q & A research of the best future format of the mag following last years AGM - and the overwhelming response was to keep it in "paper" form - so as to keep our non forum members in the loop. We had to reduce the production costs of the mag somehow - hence it has moved from two monthly to quarterly. So - let's see if we can make the next copy the same thickness as the Stafforshire Telephone DIrectory - it really is down to you! Would be nice to give "the same old faces" a few weeks off too........... BTW - don't worry about spelling and "making it look pretty" - Pete Oz is an excellent editor

  2. my copy has landed - bit thinner than usual but still well worth it and a big thanks to the guys who put it all together it would seem that even small features would be of interest - in the same vein that we have threads like 'tell us about your latest upgrade' why not a similar feature in the mag where people send in their pictures and write a small write up on what they have done - only has to be a handful of lines - they should save from posting their upgrades on the boardrooms until the mag has landed there could be another page of pictures and locations of members cars that have been sent in by the owners - I think 99% of people would love to get their car shown in the mag as in the same way it is nice to get a mention by you AO in their section how about a small prize for the best picture sent in - I am quite happy to make and design up a cool sticker for the published winner and send out I guess what I am trying to say above is that IMO it does not have to be a huge written article which may put some people off putting pen to paper oh and finally a sticky post (if there is not one already) asking for magazine content to be sent that includes all the necessary contact details and general guidelines - just really asking for everyones input - after all it is much easier to juggle too much content than not enough as mentioned above it is in part down to the members to provide content

  3. Having joined c2 weeks ago I'm really looking forward to receiving my first copy of the magazine. I haven't had a club mag for more than 5 years now since I was in the Peugeot Sport Club and BMW Car Club. When I finally find a Westfield I want to buy I may write something about my search and first impressions of ownership.

  4. How about this one if you need a 1991 or earlier car. Looks good value. http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/forum/34/viewthread.php?tid=167115

  5. As said many times in previous posts the reason is quite simply a lack of support by most members of the club. There's a lot of members out there that are just prepared to take from the club with out putting any effort in doing their part and the usual bull **** of I'm too busy, etc is a fav. People turn up at events be it track days, exhibitions, speed series ,area meets, contributing to the mag, marshalling or what ever the event is & put sweet FA in to help. The guys who are the area organisers, club committee a long with event volunteers do a sterling job for little reward. I've been involved with the club for 13 years now doing various jobs within the club and it still amazes me how much help the general membership don’t give to the club.....Its a cliché I know but its your club so contribute/help out do what ever you can even if its just help clearing up at the end of the day… help out and put something back, but most of all support the Area Organisers because they get little support in general with articles for the club magazine from the majority of the membership. Remember they put in lots hours of their own precious time... they have families, jobs, projects etc. Trying to write an Area report without any info from the region is very difficult and generally makes a dull read which knocks on through the mag. A lot people just look through the publication to see if there’s a photo of them or their car in that edition. For those who do & have contributed to the club in what ever shape a big thank you, you know who you are…. The silent few Sorry went off on one there Buzz

  6. that screems work to me , throttle bodies not ideal for starters with that set up ,much better with standard plenum and easier ,probably needs lots of set up and there are loads of factors to take into consideration ,how old is the charger ,previous use and most of all start up and running issues as they say ,if its just a map then they should have it sorted before they sell it ,and it does not look like its been used much with that set up at all so all of this just says walk away

  7. Hi Samuli, Someone on here will know this car and be able to comment. It might be worth starting another thread titled, "Does anyone know this car?", that usually attracts some attention. Looking at the ad in detail, it's currently a non-runner because the cold start is messed up. They also claim that it ran OK but needs tuning properly. Now, it has megasquirt and bike throttle bodies, which are fine, I made a car with this set up a few years back that's still flying around on track days. But, unless you're very capable you're going to need a tuner with a rolling road who's happy to work with bike throttle bodies and megasquirt, and there aren't many in the UK, let alone, I suspect, Finland. The fact that it appears to have never run properly also makes me wonder whether the cooling has been properly sorted, for example. If you want an engineering challenge, lots of development potential, and don't mind not actually driving it much for some time, it could be ideal. It doesn't feel that expensive. I'll be honest, that would appeal to me. But if you want to get a car that you can drive straight away and do a few long journeys, etc, it might be a bit frustrating.

  10. Pringles n stella as per usual please cap'n as a non member, my opinion counts for more than everyone elses, Steve is the kind of person taht would make me join the club, however in retrospect, those in the know will have the means viable to contact him should they need to, and those taht dont but would like to contact him, would only need ask someone previously stated as "in the know". to those who like their people like they like there life, boring and normal, i guess its just there loss! Me personally, i hope one day ill be able to afford a westy, so i can crash it, to have a reason to meet steve when i take it to his shop for repairs, whilst listening to an illegal radio whilst prancing round naked
