If you're referring to my comment, it's because people are commenting on Steve and not the causes of his unhappiness. This private matter is getting too public now, and time to let it rest, especially those who nothing about the core cause, even if the delivery method caused some disagreement. Let Steve and the committee work it out, but I know Steves intentions on this one are in the right place and for the protection of everyone buying a Westfield from whatever source. Storm, teacup, calm down everyone.1 point

From a newbies point of view and a regular user of MANY car forums I think this website is better off without you. (This is just my view remember and I know you're 'all for' honesty!) Over the past few months I've read a few of your posts come to the conclusion that you're just a little too big for your boots and need taking down a peg or two. I do think, however, that the administrators should have informed you why your posting rights were taken away.1 point

I think i have been vocal enought on this point, so do try my best with articles, but what we really need are; Technical articles. Tips and hints Route/driving road trips articles. Ther really is no pressure, but we all do realise that many are afraid of writting a technical article due to being challenged. I say write it and send it, and we can then review and discuss prior to making it public. that way anly the best advice gets published and no one gets egg on their face.1 point

People, this is OUR magazine! If you want to make every issue an interesting read, which it should be, then do something about it, goodness me! Take the time to write, even a short article about a mod or upgrade or woe or trip or whatever! Because there's one thing that we all have in common and that's we love to read about all things Westy, so even if you think it's small potatoes, submit it for inclusion..! OUR magazine, remember ;-)1 point

A good point... which makes me think... There are some very interesting things writted on the Forum which are easily missed amungst the chat/banter. Or because we sometime have a Froum break for a month due to other commitments. How about some of this interesting content is used in the magazine? It would save someone writing it twice, once on the forum and then remembering to send a letter/e-mail to the editor. The things I am refering to are things which I would not have know without being on the forum at the right time and place: - fitting a micro switch to overcome the pressure switch issues. - how to plan weight saving (cost vs weight saved to pick the cheap things first). - Zetec overcooling issue (although an excellent artical was written about this by Fraser from Blink Motorsport). - How to build a garage. - What new products Playscool and that Mick chap are working on. (I would love to read about Mick's background and work).1 point

If Westfield World went electronic, and if you are correct that 95% of the membership use a computer regularly, then how do you get the magazine to the other 5%? ???1 point

It does strike me, even from the things I see on the forum, that there's loads of interesting stuff going on. There are those competing, organising intersting trips away, those creating imaginitive new modifications and builds, plus those who've juts bought their first Westfield and are wantin tgo share their experiences and initial thoughts about the club. I'm sure there's other stuff besides, perhaps such people should be encouraged to put pen to paper and share some of these things, as it may just help add a bit of colour and content to the magazine? There are some characters on here whose personal takes on life would probably fill some very entertaining column inches.1 point

I like the mag. I am old fashioned and still like to sit down and read a printed article at the end of the day but agree that it is getting thinner. Perhaps we could start a list - articles we would like to read about and people with the appropriate knowledge could rise to the challenge. The main themes that have been good in the past that could perhaps be a standard structure: road trips explaining an upgrade something WSCC motorsport related technical guide to tuning or set up1 point

yeah that and it's only as good as the contributions made by the members so for example, Mick, why don't you write an article about carbon fibre?1 point

That's an interesting way of doing things. Banning someone for something they might do rather than actually doing. I don't know what's gone on and im sure the moderator acted with the best interest of the club, but I would have thought a phone call to Steve beforehand could have avoided a lot of upset.1 point

Dave, Not wishing to teach you to suck eggs and have no idea what previous similar cars you have driven or if this one is well set up or not, but please please take it easy to start with. I am not questioning your driving skills, but from experience of picking up new cars, it is only much later that you realise one of the tyres has a crack in the side wall or is very old or is a different pressure, or the ride height was set wrong etc etc....and then on a damp rutted road you break and have a big moment or worst.....just some advice to consider that's all.1 point

On a related note The Government has recently changed the Live music act , you are now allowed to have live music in small venues between 8..-11.00 PM without the need for a special license. So Steve , turn off the radio, change your working hours and get a band in , you know it makes sense If you need a rocking band , just let me know, I might have a contact1 point

Well it’s that time again and this is just a quick reminder that this coming Sunday, 4t March, will be our first local area meet of 2012. As you are probably aware all our meetings will be at The Old Ram, Tivetshall St Mary and this one starts from 14.00. My Westfield is still off the road but I will definitely be there in the tin top. So if you fancy a trip out in the sports car or the tin top then please come and join me for a drink and chat at the pub. Paul1 point
