  1. Well there is good news and bad news Good news first I fitted the air intake tonight after painting it black to help it blend in, I just hope by putting it forward of the radiator a bit it allows enough air onto the rad I also traced the switched live cable from the main loom as I could not find it last night, and I now have working instruments as far as I can tell. I ran the car for a few minutes..... Fuel gauge moved to just over empty - must be right, no more than half a gallon in the tank Oil Pressure gauge started at 3.5 bar, then settled down to just over 2.5 bar. Water temperature - did not move, but only ran it for about 3 minutes, so probably not long enough to get it moving. Tacho - Started at about 1250rpm on cold start, then had more or less settled down to just over 800 rpm. Speedo - not checked yet , but the odometer was showing a reading, so a good start. Bad news Button indicators do not work on either indicators or hazard - so some investigation needed here. Shock absorber on the front is still leaking. So not too bad. I have still got the backlighting to do on the instruments, as well as the warning lights, but I am pleased that the end of the loom work is definitely in sight

  2. As you know, the wonderfully knowledgeable and evil Dr Gadgetman and his feline, Laser-Us, have taken over the snack food business here on the boardrooms. This was to allow me to work on my next phase of WSCC domination, which I am now proud to reveal. In conjunction with Grand Master SteveD, the diplomat, I can announce the ultimate in self-defence training... DIPLO-FLAT! Read all about it here and be sure to sign up soon to avoid disappointment!

  4. After my initial concerns and dummy spitting episode I've relooked at my chosen class times and if anything I'm more hacked off and dissulusioned now than I was before. It's no secret that I planned to compete in class D this year and looking at the changes there with 10 soft times I really dont know if its all worth it. I think its all too easy to say just turn up and enjoy it. Personally I do enjoy it very much, I have even been known to enjoy a social refreshment at some events but more importantly I set my stall out to try and win my chosen class and see where things go from there. To that end I think I have been fairly successful. With all thats been changed in D overall honours are unlikely and so I'm quite put off. I really dont want to be travelling the distances I do for a max of 100 points. Soft times constitute for the majority of my pre planned events, I'm also hacked off that there was nothing said prior to these changes being announced, again due to travel times for me I pre plan time off work etc etc to suit. Should we expect more rule changes for 2013? My personal opinion is that if anything rather than attract its quite off putting. I've been competing in SS for a few years now and am having to decide whether its worth it. Hows does this make a newby feel if its doing this to a seasoned competitor?? I really do appreciate the hard work of the SSOT and a lot of the opinions on this thread however I think some things need to settle for a bit for the future of our Championship.

  5. This the kind of thing you're thinking of? I'm not convinced about them, they were on the car when I got it, but suppose it breaks up the yellow somewhat....

  6. Came across a link to this in another forum and thought it might help as a timely reminder that although we joke about elf and safety, warning labels on stuff are still there for a reason! http://www.brewracingframes.com/id75.htm
