  2. Evening all, I'm trying to fit the header tank to my scuttle and am struggling to get clearance to the air filter. As a mod suggested by members I have turned my fuel rail upside down which means shorter runs of rubber hose, it's cerainly neatens things up. I actually have two questions 1) What is the little hose tail thingy coming off the fuel rail? and could I cut it off? and 2) Do I need a breather pipe on the rocker cover? There was no mention of fitting one in the manual but I put one on anyway. If I could take off the breather pipe (as It rubs on the air filter housing) and cut off the little hose tail I could move the air intake towards the center giving me more room for the header tank. Everything seems to be taking ages to do just now, 5 hrs last weekend fitting roll bar stays and 5 hrs today messing about with bonnet catches. I'll get there, but not quickly at this rate. Thanks, Doug

  3. Hi As an Area Organiser who like so many others give up their own free time to benefit their friends and members of the club I feel a little disappointing in some of the non constructive comments made by some people in this thread. For a start the cost of joining the club is minimal. Especially if you take into account that from some of the sponsors give a 10% discount on the insurance ( as most decent kit car insurers will do if your a member of the club ). So for an average £250 insurance the 10% discount covers the cost of membership. Everything else then is a bonus :- Web Site Access Area Meetings Area Events Track Days Run outs Bulk Buys Recommendations Unlimited Advice Westfield Related Or Not Friendly Banter Good Mates Meeting Nigel Mansel I'm sure active members have also lent and borrowed specialist tools saving countless cost and hassle ( That reminds me wheres my engine hoist !!!) Its even been known when members have damaged their pride and joy replacement, spare parts have come flooding in with offers to assist in the fitting so members can get back on the road ASAP. I also agree that its good that the club remains independent from the factory. Yes the factory are welcome and can contribute to the forums whenever they see fit. But its good that the forum can be open and independent. For example if it was not independent we would not be able to post Where and what alternative parts can be sourced. Personally, I don't think you could get much better value for money. Steve

  4. depends on the out come you are looking for. if you want them to go away and stop bothering you spot on! if you would like them to hand over some hard earned ,then maybe a softer approach would work as well.

  5. Puts on wig and grips both collars.. M'lud, in the afforementioned club scenario, the foul mannered spat twixt "freeloader" and club bouncer, would only be witnessed by the participants. On an internet club forum, the ill mannered interchange is witnessed by many, including potential club members. It cannot be good for member recruitment, can it? ..the defence has a cup o' tea..

  6. I don't think anyone is denying the WSCC is an excellent club, that needs funding by membership fees Blatters, it's the rude membership recruitment tactics being employed by some, I find distasteful. Anyway, I'm out of change now. 0p.

  7. My 2p I have never agreed with non members not being able to answer in the for sale section. A lot of engine / transmission parts sold are sought after by other car owners, who have absolutely no interest in kit cars. It's basically restricting the number of potential buyers. Would you pay to join say, the Allegro owners club to buy a steering column? I can't imagine withholding the search facility will make non members put hands in pocket either. Apparently they can use Google, so what's the point. (In the real world, if someone asks you something about your Westfield, you don't tell him / her to f**k off join the club and do a search! Why should it be different on here?) And, the number of threads recently rudely telling potential club members to "pay up or shut up" in my opinion, will have only one outcome. Potential club member goes elsewhere!

  8. Thought I was one of the only ones to treat a dinning room for what it is best used for, a garage extension My chassis is in the garage but just about everything else including full tub is in the dinning room, next to my workbench (formally known as the kitchen island). Car is looking great, looking forward to seeing it the flesh later in the year.
