  1. Following several requests, I'm happy to post a short update on Sophie, our new Westie puppy. She had a slight mishap in December when she fell off the couch from a height of 2' after having done a Tigger-like bounce to get on it, and had a minor knee fracture. Happily, she is making a grand recovery and is almost fully back to her loony self. (Thank you, Pet Plan Insurance!) Sophie is one of the funniest, most loving, happiest and mischeveous puppies I've ever seen, as you can tell from the signature photo. She's brought much joy and delight back into our lives again, and we love her to bits. Anyway, here's my tip of the day for you - do not let Westie puppies play unsupervised in your back garden, particularly if you're a gardener who loves flowers as Lady Colonial does (I was laughing while this happened, but I didn't think Lady Colonial knew that kind of language). Here's Sophie the "Cooler Queen" in action in the flower bed of Stalag Garden, in the wind, rain, and hail (speakers on please):

  2. Being a "Senior Lunatic" nothing seems to work straight out the box for me. I had difficulty paying for my membership on the new online payment system. But the management sorted it out and I'm now a fully paid up member. Great stuff.

  3. OK, bit of a lazy weekend as far as the car goes; busy setting up for a gig yesterday afternoon, so just took a few more pics instead. Bob's post about the DASH2 viewing angle got me thinking after I'd posted before. I've only just finished making the new spacer last week. And TBH, never even checked what the DASH2 view was like after I fitted it. (A secretly good sign, I often find) Anyway, getting ready to dodge incoming flack once more, (all deserved I'm sure) here for your jocularity and general p**s taking, the broadly finished dash.. I've tried to keep the swoop up over the DASH2 relatively subtle and in-keeping with the roll edge style of the older crash-pad, rather than trying to make it look like a modern binnacle style cover. Oh, and for Bob, I've tried to take a pic showing more of the drivers eye view of the DASH2. As you can see with the 30mm spacer on it actually opens up more of the view. The two (red) warning lights are ever so slightly obstructed - it's one of those odd things, where you see the left light from the left eye and the right light from the right eye, but without leaning forwards don't see both at once with both eyes IYSWIM! Still, when they're actually lit, they show up with no problems whatsoever. The inner row of switches that follows the line of the wheel still fall reasonably nicely under your fingertips when holding the wheel, thank goodness, had been worried I'd loose that effect.

  5. I know there is a an awful lot of ribbing between CEC owners and BEC owners, but I'd always been under the impression it went fairly equally both ways! There's an awfully lot of scarily well developed BECs on here, and plenty in the Speed Series doing lots of winning. The one thing we all have in common here is being Petrolheads, so I'd like to hope that we can all appreciate different flavours of car; of course, that doesn't mean we all enjoy the same thing, but that's just human nature. Personally, and I know it's selfish, I've quite enjoyed it, (sorry guys ) since the XTR forum went away, 'cause its been great seeing them on these forums and to read more about their fascinating cars. Likewise, I love reading about the XI's, (I don't fit so would never own one), but love to read about them and their owners experiences. Equally I love reading about the BECs, FBB's rebuild thread at the moment is really interesting, it would be a real, real shame to see BEC owners departing our shores and the Boardroom would be poorer for it. I'm sorry if maybe you have been the target for some crap that's gone beyond humour? But if your passionate about your choice of car, stick up for it, defend it, and give us poor heavy anchor engine CEC owners an idea what we're missing

    Wtf

Thanks for the answer in the other thread; I thought that might be the case. What's the old quote about "no helpful deed goes unpunished"? Thanks chaps and chappesses (if that's a word). Huge amount of effort and time, the silent majority DO notice, and I'm sure DO appreciate it. Thank you.
