What is the price for a spare battery?

Thanks for your deposit David! The spare batteries are £20 RRP (minus your 15%, therefore £17), but currently out of stock until approx 25/2.

 

The other option is a battery backpack, which includes a battery, the 'piggyback' it goes into (which also doubles as a separate charger) plus spare back doors (both open and sealed) for the housing. The benefit of this setup is that the camera automatically switches to the second power source if  /when the first runs out.

 

There have been two slightly different models, one that was made for the previous cameras and the newest model. The older model uses the larger battery (1100mAh capacity) and is silver, the new model is black (like the cameras) and uses the smaller, squarer 1050mAh battery. I am currently using the 'old' one on my Hero3 Black so there are no issues with compatibility. They are nudging £50 before discount but I think this is a better overall solution, mainly for the spare charger and seamless transition. You can view the battery status (in %, rather than just out of 3 bars) of both the main camera and battery backpack from the app, too.

Of course if you'd prefer to get just the spare battery and ideally not to wait the ~3 weeks I am sure some of the 'big boys' will have a stock of them still. If you don't mind waiting I'm happy to pop one in the post afterwards for you (no extra postage cost of course).
