Norman Verona Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Great little engine. Reliable and easy to fix. Only problem I know of is the centre exhaust manifold bolts which can come loose if not tightened regularly. Quote
alexander72 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Sparky - my budget was £5k and I spent a bit more than that but got £750 of spares at least. I would guess to build my car now with the G/Box and diff/engine would cost upwards of £7k just for the engine/box and diff. A cross-flow seems a great starting point and in the right hands will we rapid enough in a sub 2 litre class on the right rubber. I wanted a car to compete with and Martin Parkes (pub crawler) really did a cracking job on my little car. Dont forget every westy is different mate Quote
