I have a single malt 22 year something or other (can't be bothered to get up and look). It is in a pot, not glass, bottle and has a cork.

 

Better drink it quick.

Apparently you need to keep spirits away from the air if you want them to last without spoiling. I've never had a problem with spirits going off as they don't last that long. But someone told me, can't remember who, that you can puts things like glass beads in the bottles to increase the volume and reduce the air in the bottle...
