Ciprian Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Anybody put the Cham ones on the Westfield nose cone ? Photos ? The difference between the 2 noses is that the Westfield one is curved, leaving a bit of gap at the edges. I am looking to get them on to cover the old front indicators holes. Quote
Norman Verona Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I use a carbon beard trimmer, but I don't grow carbon whiskers Quote
Ciprian Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 hehe, surely somebody had to say something, lol. Yeah, you know, the aero things.. Quote
Ciprian Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 Norman, over here : http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=3272 Quote
JeffC Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 you need to watch out when fitting those as I read a guy got so much front end grip at high Speed he had to increase front spring rates as the front end of the car was in danger of bottoming out Quote
JeffC Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 oh and I think carbon mods do them too and possibly mickmade Quote
adam1330 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I've got some Carbon Mods whiskers on my car, they don't have a curve either, so I fitted them, then filled the gap with black Sikaflex, and it looks fine. Quote
GreigM Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I've got them - the car came with them on, don't know if they make the slightest difference. I have a bit of a gap, but ain't that fussy Quote
Ciprian Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 That looks good! Im not fitting them for extra grip lol. Only to cover the holes... Quote
chappers Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 As with Adam's, black silkaflex fills the gaps and you don't notice it. I do have 1 bolt into a rubber rivnut in the middle of the whisker though just to make sure it doesn't fall off. Quote
pistonbroke Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 There also very handy for resting your spanners on while working on the front end Quote
Blatman Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I've got them - the car came with them on, don't know if they make the slightest difference. I have a bit of a gap, but ain't that fussy Well, they definitely add weight and increase drag... Quote
