Bob Green
Fitting my Mini with an SPQR remote gearchange to get rid of the "Puddin' Stirrer" stick and chequered finishing that went along the wheel arches and sill panel. Oh, nearly forgot, the mandatory Lucas spotlamp acting as a reverse lamp!

I had one as a reversing lamp.

Man On The Clapham Omnibus
What about those Blue spot lamps? they had, err, well, a blue spot in the middle of the lens, I think ther were made by Lucas. I had one as a reversing lamp. The brand was Notek and there was an amber spot model with a halogen bulb.
Norman Verona
Bob, My Mini had 5 spot lights on the front (Lucas) and a fog lamp on the rear. The switches for these and other stuff was on the parcel shelf rail in front of the driver. However the fog lamp switch was on the far right (nearest door) so I could pull the wires off if I got stopped. Many times I came out with "I know they're illegal officer, a policeman told me last week so I've disconnected it. Is that OK" (as I switched the switch up and down) On one occasion I was driving through Richmond park at about 1 am in the morning and stopped at the lights in the middle of the park. In my mirror I watched 2 headlights approaching fast. The Hillman Minx pulled across the front of me and 3 Policeman got out and surrounded the car. They had been parked on Putney bridge (is that the right bridge?) and saw, sorry, observed, me go over the bridge at a fair rate of knots. Having explained that I'd been helping move the parts department of University Motors to Epsom and had just finished and had to get home to Hackney we spent twenty minutes talking about my car and what it had fitted. They weren't concerned about an illegal reverse lamp!
carbonizer
I think these were more 70's again but i remember along with the already mentioned padded seat covers i had some of those sheapskin headrests that slotted over the back of the seat
markcoopers
Heel marks in the head lining were a nice addition. Twin DOCE or Twin SU carbs were a big 60's thing....pretty sure. Tinted sun visors were 70's i think. String back driving gloves were a 60's hit.

jeff oakley
It was also the law in a mini that you had to have to go with your bucket seat covers a colum drop link. with this you could lay back into the perforated PVC and still reach the wheel whilst pretending that it was now faster. You could add the wheel spacers, then the alloy wing spat, all using standard rims which you took off the hub caps and sprayed silver.
