If you ever find yourself needing to hire a trailer there's a couple of places local to me I can reccomend.

The first is Westbroom Engineering in Colchester they've got a couple of transporters both of which I've hired in the past (prices seem to have gone up a bit since then though), and the other you've been to the other day is Graham Hathaway who has a couple for hire.

In the end with the cost of hiring and how much I planned to use it I worked out it would be better to buy buy one, as they don't depreciate that much. If you (or any other local member) finds yourself stuck over my side of Essex broken down or just up the road at a Woodbridge Trackday, I'd always be happy to lend a hand, help with recovery, or provide some short term parking at mine.

What would help would be having an Essex contact list on here, where by we could shout out to known fellow Essex members in time of need - thinking of Trigger (Oops Tiggers) hours of need stuck in the pub last year.

Second on the list of topics for Sunday I think.

Also have trailer if anybody would like to use for the odd occasional trip.

He didn't really break down :d he's just tight and couldn't afford the fuel for in his V8 to make it all the way to Suffolk. We passed a nice pub and Tigger was drawn to the appeal of a sunny day, good food, a beer garden and a nice bar maid. As we burbled by a thought went through is mind.... "sod this blatting malarkey, if I pretend I've broken down, I can stop here for the afternoon, have a few jars and then get the AA to drop me back home at the end of the evening"

Good idea, maybe members could 'opt in' to a phone or mailing list? I'd happily give out my number and email for a group list. Not that I'd be much help but if anyone was in the area and fancied an impromptu drive then it would b a quick way to get the word out?

As far as trailers go there is also HJAuto (or similar) in Rochford that £50 a day or £70 a weekend. I would consider buying one but storing it would be a problem as I need the garage for the Westfield. I had a trailer hire company less tan a mile from my house that was very cheap but they've closed down.

I've booked the Novice Club MSV track day at Brands Hatch for the 4th April now so looking forward to that!!

Thanks Pete I'll check my licence. Passed my test in 1994 if that helps!

Same year as me then and I've got the full entitlement on my licence, although I've never felt the urge to drive a road roller yet

I checked and I think I have entitlements to drive up to a 7.5ton with trailer and all the B+E for heavier cars and trailer combinations.

Worth checking though!

Only 4 from the top and still on the front page, how did Tigger not see this here :durr:

Thanks to those that braved the cold and ventured out for a pint :t-up: I'm sure our AO is hanging his head in shame right now for forgetting to turn up to his own meet :d
