Rory's Dad
I've been in touch with Spire who is AO for Notts and North Derbyshire and we've arranged a joint meet at "Fox House which is on the top of the hill above Hathersage with good access towards Sheffield etc. Some very nice roads in the area" on Thursday 8 September. This comes as a result of some from South Yorks feeling that the Fox and Grapes is a bit far north/cold for them. Anyway put your names down here and we'll get it sorted. KerryS
Sorry, away again, but then you wouldn't want an MX5 slowing you down!!
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison
Blimey! Hathersage! That brings back memories of my youth and rock climbing all round that area. There used to be (could well still be) a fantastic cafe at Grindleford railway station near there. Pints of tea and mega portions for cheap as chips prices. Happy days! Spire
We can either have a few meeting points on the way or all meet at Fox House. I will be setting off from Chesterfield area at around 6-6.30 to try and enjoy some of the daylight. Let me know who wants to meet up. We need to get Max a seat, as his car is off the road I suggest he goes with Malc so Rich and Cherril can have a laugh and I can get my own back. I will pick him up if no other offers. PS Peter and Cherril have another new toy but they are not giving me any info as to what it is........ Mark
Malc
I'm up for it and I can take you Max no probs - probably get Patty in too. Let me know the set up nearer the time. Cheers
Tricky
I'm up for this too, it's a quality area for a jaunt.
Rory's Dad
I'm all for arranging a good jaunt on the way there in daylight, meeting up for a drink and wending our way home in the gloom at normal speed. Marcus - are you up for planning a route for us Yorkshire Lads?? Any other suggestions welcome Rory's Dad
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator
Can do Martin Ill have a look and try not to have a 1200 mile detour around Scotland can sort start point when we know who else want to come
Rory's Dad
Well, Marcus suggests meeting in Huddersfield at the roundabout where the Wakefield road (A629) meets the ring road (A62). Sainsburys have a petrol station right there on the ring road so ideal to meet there at 6:30pm and fill up. From there its about 40 miles via Holmfirth, Glossop and the Snake Pass We can pick up some Mancs lads at Glossop... Rory's Dad
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
Did someone call? Mmmm the Snake I could be up for that
wadsy
as holmfirth is only up the road for me. it would be rude not to turn up.
tmo
Fox house, run through Hope to Castleton, up winnats pass, turn right at the top. Follow road for half a mile, take the tight slot right Sign posted Edale, up over the top, start the descent, park on the right for a quick "take in the view and picture opportunities” and enjoy the run back through to Hope ..... One of my favourite runs.
Rory's Dad
I'll get in touch with Spire and sort out the timings starting with some of us starting from Huddersfield at 6:30. We need an eta at Glossop and an eta at Fox House. Is that a village, a pub, a hill, or what?? Rory's Dad
