Lads and Ladies,

I have just recieved my membership through the post this morning, and I didnt have to wait for too long.

Im new to the Westie scene, never owned one previously due to costs, running another vehicle and being in my early 20's iv only just this year been able to save the amount of money i need for a Westie.

Iv loved them since the day that I saw my first Westfield and Iv always loved my cars (even from a young age of when i used to steer my dads vauxhall whilst sitting on his knee on shell island).

Well ill stop boring you all now and get on with it...... last month I started looking and straight away got the bug. The first one I looked at I wanted to buy, but because my 'old man' was also putting some money into it he nudged me into looking for a better deal. So after being on pistonheads every hour of every day we suddenly saw one that caught our eye. It was a beautiful example of a 1999 SEiW in canary yellow. I gave Tony (the seller) a call straight away. This guys charm almost made me pay over the phone for it but I decided to go down to Bedford and have a look for myself with the Mrs.

We arrived one hot Sunday morning in July. All I can say is I fell in love with it. Everything was sound with the car, and for the price it was criminal. The Ford Pinto engine didnt miss a beat, no rust and body work was quality. After taking me for a spin I fell even deeper in love with it. And here I am now, having bought it a month ago, still loving every minute of it.

The day after we got it the whole family came around to look at it, grandad and grandma first, then uncle and aunty... the list goes on.

Then the old man had a go...

Then its grandads turn.... etc etc

The first thing I did was clean the engine out (even more) and clean the K&N filters out.

I then ordered some new gaiters from ebay for 11 quid. They were the same black leather with yellow stictching. Really easy to do and done in 10 minutes.

It then saw its first show at the Black Country Museum on the 31st July 2011. Great weather and got to meet some great lads with loads of help there.

I look forward to really getting stuck in and attending as many events as possible.

See you all soon and a BIG, HUGE thankyou to Tony for all his help and support. All the best for the future pal and iv gained a good friend through this.

Regards

Dan
