Also tell him yours is a competition engine, bred from decades of successful rallying and circuit racing and that his is out of a Ford Probe.

Probe Engine  ???  ???  Wasn't that the Jap thing that Ford used which was a bit pants  ???  ???  :)  :)

Just wait for your mate's Zetec electronics to start playing up - then revel in the fact that virtually everything on a Xflow can be fixed with a basic set of spanners & a Haynes manual.

P.S. My Xflow doesn't leak either - I use Valvoline Racing - which seems to be thick enough not to run throught the gaps  :t-up:

The old frog eye ugly bug was no better - that lotsa-valve jobbie wasn't the best Ford have done.

The Probe had comfy seats - but engine was bad and most of the spares were from some foreign oddbins bucket

Proper Zetec = Mondeo  :D  :D  :D  :D

What is parts availability like for the x-Flow?

If you are going scrapyard shopping, well they are getting as rare as hens teeth now :(

But everything is still available if you know where to look for the stuff. Motorsport News, Classic Ford magazine, the Parts for Sale section on this board will keep a car on the road for years to come. And the engine is still very well supported by the specialist tuning companys (Burton, Vulcan etc, etc).

Sorry, couldn't type I fell off the chair laughing  :D  :D  :D

Even Dickie B went from a 4AGE back to a X-flow  :0 and a 1300 one at that.
